Land mines and shooting people on sight are unconstitutional.

If we declare a national emergency, nearly anything is quite 'possible', rahl. You know this.... Remember Little Rock in 1957...?

the cartels have military grade weapons and tunnels under the wall, carpet bombing the border would solve for the underground bunkers

No, it isn’t. The constitution doesn’t become null and void of an emergency is declared. You can’t blow up people or shoot them on sight on US soil. That is a constitutional violation.

It's probably fair to compare the Mexican cartels with, say, the Islamo-Nazi cadres of ISIS, in terms of weaponry and capabilities. ISIS is not match at all for the armed forces of any of the larger countries, and neither is any of the cartels, or all of them put together.

But, to your point, it would be interesting to see what precisely targeted phosphor-napalm bombs could do to a cavalcade of illegal invaders and/or their 'sponsors' and 'enablers'.... Personally, I like armed surveillance drones better than anything else. VERY effective, and very cost-effective, too....

In fairness, you could possibly be right -- for the moment. We've never taken decisive action against illegally-invading mobs before... but we could in the future! The possibilities are endless....

disagree, if it was found that thousands of guns were sold to the cartels by a handful of Americans, it would allow legal action to be taken

And if the individuals whom the firearms were registered to, chose to report them as stolen five minutes after the sale occurred, they would be cleared of any and all responsibility when the firearms are eventually found and traced, since the united states legal system would classify them as victims of violent crime, rather than as accessories. Ultimately what is being proposed on the part of yourself is nothing more than yet one more easily subverted system that carries no legitimate purpose in existing.

And the filthy way our Fake News Media smears the victims reaches what was previously though to be impossible, a new low.

From the same crowd who covered for Epstein and Weinstein so they could continue their depredations on young women to protect Hillary's presidential run:

Nine women and children – all American citizens – were massacred in Mexico, as we covered yesterday. The youngest victims were eight-month-old twin babies.

First, the New York Times decided that bringing up the family’s fundamentalist Mormon history was a great way to frame their murders. Then the Los Angeles Times decided to one-up that hot take.

    Los Angeles Times

    ✔@latimes

U.S. victims in Mexico massacre were tied to family with a long history of violence https://www.latimes.com/world-nation/story/2019-11-06/mormons-mexico-lebaron-fundamentalist-history …

Repeatedly Slandered by The Fake News Media as they grieve inconsolably for their murdered young.

What the actual hell is this??? This is disgusting beyond belief. So, the LA Times really thought “hey, let’s go dig up dirt on the family in order to blame mothers and babies for getting themselves killed in Mexico. After all, can’t have people thinking we need a wall or anything…”

These two stories are proof positive that the media has failed in its primary duty – finding the truth. And that journalism is dead because those who call themselves “journalists” think that peddling this ****, and covering for evil if it disturbs their narrative, is a virtue.

yep, if they were stolen, then would need to report them, how many you think are gonna report their guns stolen every time they sell their guns, that would also raise a red flag as the reports added up

In short, uncomplicated, easy to understand terms, what is being proposed on the part of yourself is a system where reported victims of crime are regarded as accomplices for no reason other than the fact they are indeed reporting being the victims of crime. While simultaneously holding that if they do not report being the victims of crime, they will be regarded as accomplices for failing to report being victims of crime.

people are researching why this happened, I do not care where that leads, all should be reported, that said, we do not know this family was part of that group, just cause they come from that family doesn't mean they were part of that group

if this is a type of religious war between some Christians and some Mormons, we need to know that too though

saying the media can't report all sides of an issue would be wrong.... it's the only way to find the truth, and this article seems to cover many possibilities

"The extended LeBaron family has spoken out for years against drug cartel violence in Mexico"

that could be the real reason, per the article

I will also add, that regardless why it happened, it's a horrible crime against this family

if every month you report 1000's of assult weapons being stolen and they always ended up in the hands of the cartel, yep, that would be suspicious

just like if every month you reported a new house burned down to collect insurance, ect.....

    both should be investigated

Oh, with 90% of the drugs coming in by boat and POEs throughout the country, that would result in an instant recession.
Shut the border down ? That might last an hour.

I believe that when someone labels a political party or a wing of that party as having " infested " our country and " hating America" and of course you threw in "radical". Radical alone would not get my attention if fact the Four Toddlers of the House at least approach in some form the line of radical with some of their ideas.

I am well aware that Jews have lived in the Germanic lands and procipalities since the Middle Ages if not before. Yes Jews contributed greatly to the German culture, sciences, business, medicine and did serve in the military before and during WW II. Glad you put that is because I know that there are people here who are not as well versed about history as you and Inare.

There are Democrats and leftists of other various stripes who damn close to radicalism we can and should disagree with Democrats, or Socialists, or Republican, but I reserve my condemnation of those who hate America to Nazis and Communists. Yes I know that there are those people especially along rabid Trump supporters who call DemocratsSkcialists or Communists. That is as wrong, foolish, stupid, and wrong as calling Republicans Nazis. Or for that matter calling those of the Trump Cult Party Nazis.

the truth is the truth regardless where it leads, we don't hide the truth because we may not like it - sometimes digging for the truth brings up things some may wish stayed buried - it's part of the process of trying to find out why this horrible tragedy happened - and we may never know for sure, but without searching for the truth we can be sure we will never know

The war on drugs is without doubt a total failure as you say. I wonder if most Americans understand that the metric DEA uses for determining their success is the street price of drugs. The higher the price the greater they view their success. Ironically this is probably the same criteria the cartels use to determine their success. The higher the street price of drugs the better. If making illegal drugs totally unavailable was the DEA success metric, they would be viewed as a total failure. As a libertarian minded person I don't see where in the Constitution governments derives the power to prevent people from growing and using Marijuana. The war on drugs not only sucks up a huge amount of tax money, there are Billions being lost in potential tax revenue, i.e., Marijuana could be taxed. Then of course there is the issue of civil liberties being eroded.

Thousands of firearms, perhaps. Dozens of firearms, however, not so much.

What is ultimately being proposed on the part of yourself, is a system where law enforcement officers are authorized to use their own individual discretion in determining that a private individual, who is reporting being a victim of violent crime in compliance with the proposed law, was in possession of too many firearms for said possession to be legal or otherwise legitimate. Meaning a system that can easily be subjected to abuse with no oversight.

And the registration of privately owned firearms, in the desperate hope of trying to identify the last known legal owner of said firearm found at a crime scene, will not serve to aid in the search for the truth.

if it was dozens a month or week, that would still be suspicious, if it was a one time deal, not so much I agree

not at all, they can own 1000 firearms, what they can not do is sell them to the cartel - we are not talking about arresting people with too many guns, we are talking about investigating guns confiscated from the cartel pointing back to a single person who is claiming monthly that his guns were stolen - yep, that should raise a red flag for investigation
