So, Giuliani was the man behind the seven state fake elector scheme.

I predict he will be prosecuted for this.

    https://www.cnn.com/2022/01/20/poli...icials-rudy-giuliani-fake-electors/index.html

Trump campaign officials, led by Rudy Giuliani, oversaw efforts in December 2020 to put forward illegitimate electors from seven states that Trump lost, according to three sources with direct knowledge of the scheme.

The sources said members of former President Donald Trump's campaign team were far more involved than previously known in the plan, a core tenet of the broader plot to overturn President Joe Biden's victory when Congress counted the electoral votes on January 6.

Giuliani and his allies coordinated the nuts-and-bolts of the process on a state-by-state level, the sources told CNN. One source said there were multiple planning calls between Trump campaign officials and GOP state operatives, and that Giuliani participated in at least one call. The source also said the Trump campaign lined up supporters to fill elector slots, secured meeting rooms in statehouses for the fake electors to meet on December 14, 2020, and circulated drafts of fake certificates that were ultimately sent to the National Archives.

Trump and some of his top advisers publicly encouraged the "alternate electors" scheme in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Arizona, Wisconsin, Nevada and New Mexico. But behind the scenes, Giuliani and Trump campaign officials actively choreographed the process, the sources said.

One fake elector from Michigan boasted at a recent event hosted by a local Republican organization that the Trump campaign directed the entire operation.

"We fought to seat the electors. The Trump campaign asked us to do that," Meshawn Maddock, co-chair of the Michigan Republican Party, said at a public event last week that was organized by the conservative group Stand Up Michigan, according to a recording obtained by CNN.

Listen to audio by Meshawn Maddock describe the Trump campaign's involvement in the fake elector plot at a recent speech in Michigan

    https://cdn.cnn.com/cnn/interactive/uploads/20220120-maddock.mp3

"[Matt Maddock] fought for investigations into every part of the election we could. He fought for a team of people to come and testify in front of the committee. We fought to seat the electors. Um, the Trump campaign asked us to do that -- under a lot of scrutiny for that today. My husband has, he's suffered for that a little bit in Lansing because it's not very popular, but you know when you represent the whole state of Michigan and that's what I see it now. I realize that even though you're going to vote for somebody to be your next state representative, your next state senator, the truth is, this body of people, they represent all of us.

You have more faith in our systems than I do then.

That we have an entire major political party not condemning an attempt to subvert US democracy makes me feel like the US experiment is over.

It's amazing to me how mainstream these conspiracy theories have become. I just can't believe there's so many people are so easily manipulated.

What is amazing to me is that anyone would believe that Trump would have their best interest at heart, after he proves over and over the only thing that matters to him is himself.
Yeah, he's going to look out for you, as long as he needs your money, vote or praise.

Yeah not to mention it's anonymous sources from CNN.

    Sounds extraordinarily "credible", doesn't it?

I think some of it is that Trump himself was someone with a horrifically “dirty” past and yet he was never held to account - that has virtue signalled to a lot of people. Those are not people I would willingly mix with but…….

The US experiment is not owed to the incumbent political party, as the emperor without clothes knows(Biden.) The experiment ebbs and flows with the political winds. Our experiment is in the 50 states laboratory, as outlined by WV Senator Manchin. That experiment is still very much strong and has never weakened.

The American People will ask themselves in the 2022 mid terms what the emperor without clothes has done, and what his party has done for us and they will ask the same questions in 2024. Somehow I suspect, Trump won't factor into those questions.

Agree 100% with the highlighted in red.
I think that Biden is exactly as advertised.
I think Trump, unfortunately, will be a factor, but, fortunately, won't be the determining factor.

ROFL. If you believe the 2022 elections are some epiphany by the people of this nation when it will simply be following trends set for decades then you are desperately grabbing for straws. 2022 will be just like 2018 and 2014 and 2010 and … so on. Whatever gives you some solace I guess

But then again your cult leader never being chosen by the people of this nation and evicted in a record election still made many of you believe there was some mandate for your party to ultimately corrupt numerous federal institutions as well as SCOTUS which has its lowest approval levels since my generation was born.

As to it have “never weakened” — if a bought and paid for congressman, massive federal debt and eroded trust in government is what you believe makes us “strong” then you are definitely a Republican.

They had three sources. The sources are non anonymous to the news outlet, their identities are hidden from the reader because journalists often need to protect who work in sensitive areas whose identity cannot be known, or they won't provide news information. Your premise, therefore, that they should be discredited is invalid. You simply do not understand how journalism works.

Moreover, the story is being covered in newspapers across America. Is on the newswire, so it's sourced solid.

I also know how many times people like you with your confirmation bias have been sucked in by anonymous sources that's about all we heard for the last 4 years and you people fell for it repeatedly.

But then again if someone tells you what you want to hear your critical thinking tends to turn off.

This is NOTHING! Trump tried to overturn the election result as he felt he had been cheated? And this is news to whom? CNN are really running on empty.

Those must also be fake representatives and governors that he is trying to get elected. I bet he also made up fake documents and filed them somehow somewhere to make DeSantis the Governor!

Maybe read something educational instead of fake news CNN...
    "
    Who selects the electors?
Choosing each State's electors is a two-part process. First, the political parties in each State choose slates of potential electors sometime before the general election. Second, during the general election, the voters in each State select their State's electors by casting their ballots."

Manchin is no more brought and paid for than the rest of the congresscritters. If you're against that, then you support a federal ban on all forms of lobbying. What say you? I too hate our federal debt and our eroded trust in government, things that the emperor with no clothes contributed to.

I too hate the SCOTUS, but it was politicized not by Trump but by its own existence, there can be no greater regret than the existence of the Supreme Court. That a court should decide the political fortune of millions, is simply untenable. The Democrats frustration is solely with a court that should decide in a conservative fashion(and the conservative vice-versa). I claim its unredeemable and beyond saving in its entirety and never should've been created in its entirety. There is not a Justice, nor will there ever be a Justice that can save it. Its dissolution is the greatest necessity of its time.

The Federal Republic was created with 13 colonies and 2.5 million individuals. Today, we stand at 50 States and 330 million souls among us. Democracy is bound to collapse in its chaos, and the Republic cannot serve the numerous millions. It's necessary for a United Empire, to unite the political factions into one entity.

Trump did not create the circumstances, he simply reveled in the chaos of the past 60-70 years of awful decisions that got us here.

You took from "Giuliani participated in at least one call" that he was "the man behind the seven state fake elector scheme"? That sounds like a very active imagination you have. And you think, without knowing what was even said on the call, that he committed a crime? Do you have a specific crime in mind? Or is this just more a vague sense of "I don't like the guy and I hope he goes to jail"? Because it sounds a lot like the latter.

Well, Trump got himself another fall guy. I don't get why Giuliani would stoop this low unless he was always this corrupt but hide it well. Maybe, he needs the money that bad.

His stupidity and gullibility are not excuses for trying to steal an election. As entertained as I am that Trump's supporters are now going with the "he's too feeble-minded to be liable" excuse, I don't buy it.

    Prosecuted for what?

So, we have governors in several states illegally change election rules which resulted in millions of illegal votes and some are concerned about electors?

Hahaha! Must be nice to cherry pick the laws based on how an election turns out!

Your rebuttal is too vague, no value.

The idea that any media is perfect is a non argument. No one and no thing is perfect.

but, that is not an excuse not to consider reportage, especially if its' across the nation in hundreds of newspapers.
