Trump claims coronavirus is 'going to go away' despite mounting concerns

The serial liar and guy who appears to know very little about the virus has decided the best method for addressing the Coronavirus threat, the one which many Experts believe has reached the point where you will likely contract the illness, by projecting confidence in public while privately railing against the decisions of his appointees.

The coronavirus poses a "Black Swan" threat to the Trump Presidency and the Stock Market is reacting (dropping ~1500 over the last two days thus far) to the increased threat posed by the Coronavirus showing up in South Korea and Italy.

He's right. Remember SARs? How about swine flu? These things crop up every few years and then fade. Its more a product of media hysteria than anything else.

Corona virus has killed 2100 people worldwide.

Regular old flu kill 640,000 every year.

 

And we thought he was going to go away, and yet here we are still stuck with him!!

 

The reason that SARs and MERs are different from COVID-19 can actually be linked to the fact that COVID-19 is not as deadly or severe for most people. You can get COVID-19 and spread it without even showing symptoms or while experiencing such a mild set of symptoms that you would never know you were sick.

COVID-19 looks to have a very strong chance of creating another cycle, like the Flu, that just sweeps through the country every year.

 

I am concerned. I don't think we know all that there is to know about this virus. It seems to be able to be carried with no symptoms for an extended period of time. Transmission is also very easy for it. But, my real question is, what is the real mortality rate, because the Chinese are an honest government, especially when they should be.

Trump taking this lightly is probably being done to protect the economy. The economy is all about confidence and this could shake it to the core.

 

Witness the market down over 1,000 points yesterday and over 500 so far today.

 

It will go away.

Trump should announce, instead, that we're all going to die, and see if he can crash the market completely. Much better plan! Said nobody ever....

 

When I have money available, it's called DCA. I can't time the market and neither can anybody else. I'm not planning on needing my IRA money for 10 years so the last two days are a big nothingburger. It does seem reasonable that today is a better entry point than three days ago.

Well, I think, from the moment I heard about the Coronavirus, that it's a population control illness designed to kill off China's surplus population. The secret rural, poor population that live outside the cities and aren't counted in any census.

 

So it's not a great buying opportunity. No day is a better buying opportunity than any other day.

 

OR he could not opine on things in which he has no knowledge of. I know, I know, he's a stable genius that knows more about ISIS than our generals, he knows more about courts than anyone on the planet, knows more about trade than anyone else, and now he knows more about contagious viruses than the expert doctors. The man is a buffoon.

 

Not to worry... that warm weather is just around the corner...

I think the CDC should take emergency steps NOW to prevent ANYBODY reentering the country from India...

This is just the meda getting every one worked up. Do you know how many people die/yr due to infections from the hospital? Its about 90K-100K. 3,000 people die a year from food borne illness. 3K to 50K from the flu. But yet were worred about a flu like virus from China. People in China are dying bc the lack of, or access to reliable clean water. Lack of proper sewage facility's, close tightness to those are are sick, and an "ok" healthcare system. So Trump is right.

Hmmm, doesn't seem the CDC is treating COVID-19 as normal seasonal influenza. But what do they know? I guess they forgot to ask trump.
