LOL, make up your mind, on the one hand the LW says Trump is a complete idiot, then they say he figured out how to steal a presidential election. How did he do that? If he wins next year will that be stolen too?

I've long said I'm happy to have the LW delude themselves with this lie rather than address the real reasons Trump won W. Va. by 42 points. Perhaps they think they can do better next time campaigning on open borders, higher taxes, free everything for illegals, taking away their guns and church donation deductions, and catering to phony victim groups.

Are you asking someone who isn't an elected official and doesn't own the company from which they are renting?

    Then stop.

Wouldn't the gift Obama got from a foreign power for his Nobel Prize be a violation?

There wouldn't be the same benefit at the same price. The Doral was offered at cost which means no profit is being made. Profit accounts for about 30% of a resort's price which doesn't factor in resort fees. There would be an automatic 30% reduction in costs for the Doral. But that really doesn't tell the whole story. If a large percentage of the resorts rooms and facilities are not being used to generate profit for the length of the conference, then the resort will take a 30% loss in revenue that could have been genereated if the conference was not being held there. So even if the conference resort was provided at cost, the President will take a loss versus normal and expected profits.

So how can taking a loss somehow be conflated with an emolument? There has to be more to this story to justify the outrage.

Camp David would be a good start. Somewhere where money wouldn't be flowing to Trump would be a baseline.

There is no guarantee Trump wouldn't take a profit beyond his lying mouth. When has he ever told the truth about his financials or his businesses?

Camp David is just a 3 star Motel 6.

Camp David is a freaking U.S. Navy installation with U.S. Marines and Navy SeaBees billet there.

This isn't "foreign aid" and he was engaged in foreign trade throughout his term.

Doral will have 24 hr. News coverage and internet presence for the entirety of the G7 meetings. Resorts can't afford to buy that kind of media coverage. Trump is not taking a loss. And why shouldn't other resorts have been allowed to bid on the meeting? There are a number in South Florida that can handle that type of event and they also might have been willing to do it at cost in exchange for the hours of media coverage - but they weren't even allowed to submit a bid because Trump used his political influence to procure the meeting without competition.

Tell me, Trump FanBoys, how is that not a conflict of interest?

    Waiting ...

So you are comparing 30% occupancy at a profit versus 100% occupancy at a loss. It reminds me of a business owner who thought he could lose money on each item he sold and make up for the loss in volume.

Is publicity a thing of value for a luxury resort?

“No title of nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall, without the consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office, or title, of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign state.”

“The President shall at stated times, receive for his services a compensation, which shall neither be increased nor diminished during the period for which he shall have been elected and he shall not receive within that period any other emolument from the United States, or any of them.”

Article II, Section 1, Paragraph 7. That clause prohibits the president from receiving any “emolument,” or payment, from the federal government or from any state that is beyond compensation for his services as chief executive.

Other suits ongoing concerning Emoluments Clause:

A lawsuit brought by the attorneys general of Maryland and the District of Columbia. The suit claimed Trump is violating the emoluments clause by holding a financial interest in the Washington hotel. A federal appeals court panel dismissed the suit, but it will likely be reconsidered by the full court.

A second suit brought by a hotel event booker, a restaurant association and Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington was reinstated by an appeals court after two separate decisions on claims of unfair competition were handed down in different courts.

A third suit includes 215 Democratic members of Congress. That suit claims that Trump has accepted the money for events at hotels and resorts without the consent of Congress. The Constitution requires the president to obtain “the consent of Congress” before accepting an emolument.

Trump likes to pretend his presidency is the best at everything! When it comes to corruption, he may be right. He and his family continue to flout law and profit from the office of president:

Equivalent Advertising Value (EAV). A term used to measure the advantage from media coverage - estimates what the comparable amount of exposure, if budgeted as advertising, would cost. So take Each minute of TV advertising and each line of Internet exposure and calculate how much that would cost if
Doral had to buy it on the market. That's how much Trump is gaining buy having the G7 meeting "at cost". It's Bullcrap and he knows it.
