Actually it's you that moved the goal post. First you made a blanket statement that the US did not defeat ISIS and when I pointed out that they destroyed the very large ISIS caliphate and only the remnants of the defeated terrorist group remained to make a last ditch stand in Syria you changed to saying the US didn't defeat ISIS "in Syria" to which I can only roll my eyes and say yeah whatever. LOL

 

I did no such thing. The conversation was about Syria - not Iraq or Afghanistan - and you were told this numerous times during the conversation. Once again you are talking complete nonsense and you know it.

 

So maybe we had a miscommunication and you never meant to say the US didn't defeat ISIS but meant that the last remaining fragments of ISIS that were left and fled to Syria after we destroyed and devastated the organization everywhere else were defeated by Russia. I won't argue with that and my thanks to Russia for mopping up.

 

I stated right out of the gate that ISIS in Syria was already mostly defeated prior Trump coming into office. You disagreed and I I asked you to make the cities liberated by US forces prior to Oct 2017 - which is when we actually did liberate a major city held by ISIS in Syria - Raqqa.

I think posted numerous links that demonstrated showing Russia/Syrian Army taking over various cities.

The whole point of Trump making the claim that ISIS was defeated was to justify his decision to get out of Syria - a decision I agreed with as our presence there is illegal under international law - and we made a huge mess in Syria.

How you figured that Afghanistan had something to do with this conversation - I don't know ?

In any case - once again you do not have your facts strait - absurdly so to be honest. The modern incarnation of ISIS went from Syria into Iraq - not the reverse. ISIS in Iraq was defeated under Bush. The idea that Trump did the defeating Iraq and that ISIS then went into Syria is just nonsense. Nor did ISIS in Afghanistan - represent a significant number of the foreign fighters that flooded into Syria around 2012 - and this also had nothing to do with Trump.

ISIS/Al Qaeda controlled most of Syria prior to Trump getting involved - and they were defeated in most of Syria prior to Trump getting involved - and this was mostly by Russia- Iran- Syrian Army, not US fighters.

You then have things backwards. It was us that did the mopping in Syria -Russia/Syrian Army that did the heavy lifting.
