The point of the joke is about Trump being way over friendly with Kim Jung Il, which has nothing to do with with calling either one of them gay.
No it reveals Trump's sick need to be flattered and how easily a bit of flattery can manipulate him. Has absolutely nothing to do with gays except in the minds of the homophobic who see everything as about sexual orientation. .
The crude sexual kiss misses the mark - if the mark is Trump. Most people like to hear people praise them. Then you do get it. The purpose of the cartoon was to stimulate reactionary homophobic opposition to Trump. I doubt that the cartoonist was gay.
If you view the image of a slobbering kiss between Trump and Kim as a somehow secret signal to homophobes that is clearly your issue.
