SECONDLY the vaccine MUST be stored at -90 F and that means a massive amount of additional storage and handling capacity that does NOT currently exist. THIRDLY you need to deal with the FACT that less than half the population have the Flu vaccine each year. You need to convince ALL of the anti-vaxxers to get onboard with this. I think Trump is half right on this... and I'm on the left side. I'm in the UK and work in a care home - sure I had this virus back in feb/march and recently we get tested once a week at work. In March/April we unfortunately lost a few of our residents. recently we have had 3 or 4 people testing positive who have recovered - and remember these are vunerable people 90 years + ... I do belive the virus will mutate and become weaker and weaker. I still wear my mask and am careful about distancing as is better to be safe than sorry.. I dont think it will go away, but as the flu or common cold will stick around - I just dont think it will have the same deadly effects it had at the start

Trump isn't wrong when he says that it eventually would "go away" ( in other words become a nothing burger) even without a vaccine. History alone shows that it would. Humans have been around for about 10 thousand years. And it wasn't until 1880 that the first vaccine for cholera was made. That's 9 thousand plus years without vaccines and humans survived just fine through all the viruses that came and went. Is it ideal to go without making a vaccine? Nope. Of course not. Which is why Trump has pushed and pushed to get a vaccine out in record time.
