    The child had apparently been discharged and then brought back to the hospital at the request of the White House, I guess after numerous adult victims and survivors said thanks but no thanks to even meeting the president they had to resort to someone that couldn’t say no to the request.

    What a country we live in.

    No, that's the one where Trump indirectly had his parents killed...

    What's genuinely humorous is that NOBODY on staff on this trip (whoever that is anymore? - Mulvaney? Ivanka? Lloyd Christmas?) mentioned that MAYBE, just MAYBE this isn't the photo op we want to put out.... Huge smiles and thumbs up posing with a recent orphan?

    I mean, it's just rampantly stupid... It's like heading off to the Auschwitz memorial and pulling out a 3 wood and some range balls and taking a few swings...

    Trump rarely fails to amaze...

    The president of the US staging a photo op with an orphaned and injured child while smiling and giving a thumbs up because no other survivors wanted to meet with him.
    I remember when Obama wearing a tan suit was news but this — like everything this administration does — should just be ignored.

    What has happened to this county?
    I don’t even recognize it anymore

    If he would have remained somber and used it as a opportunity to actually check on the victims I would have agreed with his visit. Grinning and using a child as a political prop is the opposite of that.

    For the love of GOD get this man some therapy. This is a serious deficiency. Especially in a leader. This. Man. Is. Not. Well. This lack of empathy IS NOT MENTALLY HEALTHY.

    How desperate can you get? No, you don't give a big smile and a thumbs up when showing empathy for a recent orphan. Nor do you go to people in pain and brag about your crowd sizes. This man has a serious deficiency and this isn't exactly the first example. No one with basic human empathy can play make-believe that this is acceptable.

    This poor child was the son of a Trump supporter.

    He shielded his wife and baby as best he could.

    The extended family owns an auto repair business and were back to work the next day.

    I am thankful the there is a large extended family that will be there to support the child.
