By any reasonable standard he has been given a fair chance. By any reasonable standard (to me) he has pursued the right policies. In general. But there is so much more that we need a president to do. So many opportunities he is wasting on this idiotic personal stuff that I linked to.

Most of the Republicans in Congress are too terrified of taking him on. The same way the huge slate of GOP candidates in 2016 were terrified of confronting him because they were afraid he would spend hundreds of millions of his own money and try to "buy" the nomination when in reality he spent little of his own money.

Yeah, most of the Trump critics are foaming at the mouth nuts. But that doesn't make President Trump a better president or person simply by comparison.

Do you care more about results or presentation?

Obviously you would sacrifice benefits to the US as long as someone wasn't offensive in how they achieved them.

    I will take the benefits.

We aren't at war, the economy is doing great, jobs are coming back, and my taxes went down.

I am not going to trade that for someone that acts in the way you think is presidential.

He can be the biggest ass in the world as long as he keeps our nation improving.

That is what it boils down to.

    You just care about fluff.

    Sad

What is "sad"...are people like you willing to shame our nation by continuing to support this disgusting abomination...an abomination willing to trash our nation in order to massage his massive narcissism.

While I agree with the general themes about getting fairer trade among nations and controlling immigration, I have to disagree with his policies toward the environment and and international relations.

But as you have recognized, it is his personality and character that make him unfit for office, not his policies.

I wish you people would have investigated trump yourselves before helping to foist him on our country just to nurse your grudges.
I have observed him for the past 35 years, and he essentially operates like a corrupt mafia boss, but his buffoonery and oblivious narcissism made him a point of comic relief in society and he was deemed relatively harmless.
His personality was great for a huckster of irrelevancies but has been a disaster for a potus.
To paraphrase the Chinese- Don't say we didn't warn you.

I started to reply to the OP, but I kept coming back to this post and could not have said it any better. Re-quoted for truth.

The oldest rule of business is that it sometimes takes an ******* to get things moving. Right now the choice is Trump of surrendering to the status quo ante. Given that choice I'll take Trump.

Why can't the next guy do even better? What about his deficit spending to the tune of 1 trill a year? I don't get why you consider everything else fluff? Immigration, healthcare, his military support of Saudi Arabia and his willingness to sell them nuclear technology.

For liberals, what one says is more important than what one actually accomplishes. Don't fall into that trap because you are not used to how someone from NY talks, which most in the rest of the country would find offensive.

We probably will never have the "perfect" president in the eyes of everyone. Each man has brought some good to the office and each has brought his weaknesses and warts. The president is "hired" to run the country, as a president is allowed by law. He also represents our country and it's people by his demeanor and actions. I like the way Trump is running the country and his proven good results. His personality is very different from a politicians because Trump doesn't hold his finger in the wind. He has the confidence to be himself in all settings. Sometimes he is petty but I like the fact he takes up for himself and also takes up for our country. I'll take him again in 2020, warts and all. Nothing phony about the man -- you get what you see. If you like the complete package then vote for him, if you see a part you can't stand vote against him.

Hillary infamously spoke of holding both public and private positions on a given issue. Which means, tell the people what you need them to hear to get their support, then you can do whatever you want, and worry about the fallout later.

Some would rather be soothed by a professionally written lullaby read softly to them off a teleprompter by a handsome, articulate, "clean", smiling face, and be insulated from the ugly sausage making of government. I'd rather have someone who I can read, speaking off the cuff and saying what he thinks.

Ask any leftist this question: "Which is more alarming: The hacks of the DNC server, or the corruption those hacks uncovered?" In my experience, almost all of them will say the hacking is more alarming, when documented and exposed corruption in their governance should be far more disturbing. They are blaming the exterminator for exposing their termites, while feverishly painting over the rotten wood.

Shame our nation? Shaming our nation is lining up our intelligence community and our allies against a prospective nominee, then candidate, then duly elected President. Shame is never accepting the result of an election you lost. Shame is having a committee chair who is so invested in enabling an enemy of the country that he is obsessed with impeaching the President who reinstituted sanctions. Shame is that a candidate who colluded with foreign countries to produce discredited dossier for the purpose of having them interfere in our election is allowed to walk the streets. This same candidate committed several felonies and destroyed evidence that her gross negligence allowed a foreign adversary to view top secret documents. You want to see shame ,,, try your own back door bucko.

I just never tire of asking the most obvious question here, of folks like you. When you say "trash our nation", what exactly do you mean by that? You obviously sound angry, but fail to actually articulate an actual argument here. It sounds more superficial than most commentary on this site, so at least attempt to describe what, in your mind, you mean by "trashing" the nation. I won't hold my breath though.

I’m watching him on TV right now.

    He’s batshit crazy.

I think the 25th Amendment needs to be looked at seriously (although I know McConnell and Pence won’t do that).

Watch the man on TV right now.

He’s totally off the rails. The stuff he is saying isn’t even real. Much of it is obviously false or preposterous.

I didn't vote for anyone in the presidential race of 2016. No point. I knew Arkansas would go for Trump no matter how I voted and I was right.

You have the right to be a bystander/nonvoter with an after-others-vote opinion, but why not be an informed voter with an opinion?

Another victim of Trump Derangement Syndrome following Mainstream Media's lies word for word. Sometimes, we need to just turn off the TV and live outside the virtual world.

Clearly. The HRC debacle again... At some point, these folks just have to understand that the world moved past them.
