Sounds like 28 thousand too many to me. The S. Koreans don't want them there. They want to unite with their relatives in the North. They always did, but feared losing their American trade benefits. I think there is some kind of agreements in the works with Russia, about trains carrying goods through North and South Korea. Maybe Trump wants to stop it the way he's trying to stop N. Stream with Germany. I'm just guessing here.

Look at it this way. What if you moved to California, would you want a foreign country to put missiles there and aim them at your relatives on the East Coast? If though you were threatened about losing your job, and your family going hungry, then you might consider.

An excellent post except that you quoted John McCain who cohorted with the Al Nusra head choppers. Hypocrisy at its best. Either that, or; 'where did he go wrong'?

South Korea is involved in a mutual defense agreement with CHINA.
    Isn't that special ;)
    Search it!

My biggest disappointment with Trump is his failure to get
Troop, Advisors, etc. out of Afghanistan as "promised".

Look at it this way. If the South Koreans are not afraid of a NK invasion Truman should have left MacArthur in Japan the last time NK invaded SK.

I don't know if you noticed it, but whenever a nation wants to get rid of the American troops an incident occurs and Washington's back in the picture again. Deliberate? I think so!

    .
Yes, like most Americans, I have noticed that. The American political class has been dominated by warmongers since the Wilson administration.

I haven't seen any actual polls of the South Koreans, but I've watched a few videos and most of those interviewed either seem indifferent or supportive of the U.S. military presence. I did find a news story that quotes several South Korean government officials. It seems the government would like the U.S. to stay even if the North and the South ever sign a peace agreement.

Keep pulling back our troops & closing bases & it will cost us far more in the future. Either China or Russia will take our place. Keep spending on our military is stupid if it is all stuck here or on a boat. Trump is a fool as is Tulsi for pushing this agenda.

Trump can't negotiate with anyone because he can't be counted on to keep his word.

I'm not so sure about that. These EU and NATO nations just gave Trump the finger over his sanctions against Iran.

We're in the process of retreating from our role as "global stabilizing force". The EU is trying to fill the vacuum, at least with regards to Iran. I expect Russia to continue to try and be a major player in the Mideast as we wind down our presence, and I expect them to **** it up. Badly. Everything Russia touches turns to ****. Russians deserve a break. It's been a rough hundred years for them.

Trump wants to make a deal instead of an agreement.

Maybe he can star on the TV show, because he's not doing to good otherwise.

    "Christmas bombing" of North Korea:
Urgent humanitarian assistance to fishermen of North Korea is needed.
The effectiveness of propaganda in North Korea has fallen.
The authorities canalize the hungry to self-earning - fishing.
Authorities already allow the dissatisfied to escape.
Hungry people consider Russia partly guilty of their troubles, therefore they fish in its economic zone. But Russians are killing traitors.

The current situation is compared to the beginning of the famine of the 1990s, when up to 2 million people died.
But many charitable organizations have problems with the delivery of aid to the DPRK.
    www.dw.com/en/north-korea-demands-un-reduce-aid-staff/a-50321637 )
Humanitarian organizations will not be allowed to transport information material to the DPRK.
It should be an instruction, not just propaganda.

Opened a chance to withdraw North Korea from the 2nd world.
This is necessary not so much for the dying people of North Korea as for the future of Americans and humanity.
Helping her people is the optimal action for this today.
Humanitarian assistance will completely eliminate the threat of North Korea, and it is cheaper than ineffective military confrontation.
Even a $1 million gift to every fisherman is cost-effective.

It is also the moral duty of Americans after:
Yeosu–Suncheon_rebellion (The South Korean Army was led by US commanders), No_Gun_Ri_Massacre, Sinchon_Massacre, Kokaan-Ri, beaches near the port of Pohang
    ( www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/southkorea/4015742/More-than-100000-massacred-by-allies-during-Korean-War.html )
This is an opportunity for activists and politicians to demonstrate their ability.

It is not necessary to give gifts to fishermen in North Korea.
You can organize temporary work for them:
    1. In South Korean, Japanese and European:
    - Fishing vessels,
    - Floating bases,
    - Floating workplaces.
    2. In special camps on the shores of South Korea and Japan.
North Korean fishermen will not completely emigrate, as their families are held hostage.

    You can also organize:
    1. Tours for Christmas safari in the Sea of Japan.
    2. Sale of humanitarian goods to the North Korean authorities for North Korean won, then sell won to donors-people.
