"Among Macron's disruptions: continuing to argue for the relevance of the Iran nuclear deal from which Trump has withdrawn; announcing at the end of August that Europe needed to seek a greater accommodation with Russia and China;"

Macron is right (for a change!), because apart from environmental threats to mankind's existence, such as droughts, overpopulation, global warming, and antibiotic resistance to name but the main ones, I believe that the more serious threats to our civilizations in descending order are militant Islam, China's exponential expansion, Middle East instability, and lastly by a long way, Russia. (Salisbury/Novichok? Forget it!) But the west's propaganda against Russia is predicated on Orwell's 1984, in that 'every country (think Oceania?) needs its enemy, real or imagined'. (think Eastasia?).
