    There are no known strains in vivo that that demonstrate enough antigenic drift (or shift for that matter) to evade the numerous antibodies produced by infection with a different “strain”.

    If there is evidence of this I’m not aware of I’d like to see it and study it.

    My post was more to not rule out immunity after recovering from one bout of the virus but also in relation to the recent case where a man was infected again but to a different strain.

    Thanks. Yes I’m familiar with that case and understand your point. In your linked case there is so far no evidence the reinfection was caused by antigenic shift (a new strain different enough from the first to be unaffected by acquired immunity from the first infection). I was just curious if you knew of something newer and more concrete. Thanks again.
