You are making the same argument that many on the left have been making. That much of Trump's base was not aggrieved middle class blue collar workers, as was being claimed. It wasn't the economy that flew over their states, it was cultural advancement. A lot of conservatives were all up in arms about the advances that homosexuals, Dreamers, feminists, the non-religous, and non White citizens were making in the US. After all, we did have an half White, half Black president, and there was the possibility of a woman being elected to the presidency. The battle cry was about preserving White privilege, preserving male dominance. Defending the Christian faith. It is a changing multicultural world that they fear and oppose(d).


However, on the other side, White educated males are more likely to vote Democrat, whereas White uneducated men are more likely to vote Republican, regardless of wealth.

Forest Gump let us all know, that even a moron can stumble into success and wealth. I suppose this would be doubly so if one's morals were corrupted through belief. I am sure that it is more than a coincidence that was those who deny global warming and oppose abortion make up the vast majority of Trump supporters.

 

Because, as we all know, there are good people on both sides. (wink, wink)

I actually believe that anyone with an IQ under 70, or demonstrably ignorant of civics, should be barred from voting.

We all need to pass a basic test before the machine can tabulate our votes. Easy questions, like

"12 + 23 = ____?"

"The _____ is the chief executive under the federal constitution"?

"The legal voting age in the USA is ____?"

On edit, I believe that many Americans will feel that the media, the Democrats and the movie stars who are blaming Trump for the pandemic will feel sympathy for Trump because it's a cheap shot to blame him for the virus (while claiming that they do not), and unreasonable to expect as much of any one man as Democrats are expecting of Trump.

 

Preserving white privilege how? What policy prescription other than border control exemplifies this?

Preserving male dominance in what field? In what sense? Reparlimg what legislation that equalized women? Trump voters were largely supportive of Sarah Palin in 2008. Trump made Nikki Haley an ambassador.

Pretty sure there were other women in his cabinet. You think he's against his daughter's advancement??
