It's the same people that have been running this country since the Reagan Administration, big business. The only difference is back in the 80's big business actually had tangible products such as cars, steel, houses, airplanes etc. Today's big business is just a pimp.

Amazon distributes 30 billion items per year yet doesn't produce a single one. Uber transports a billion passengers a year yet doesn't even own a single vehicle. AirBnB sleeps 100 million guest per year yet doesn't even own a single bed. Facebook doesn't produce, sell or distribute one single item yet is worth $530 billion.

Update; I was wrong about Facebook. Facebook does sell. They sell your personal information to anyone willing to pay for it.

The only poll that counts is the one where you put your money where your mouth is. Even Vegas got it completely wrong.

2016 US PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION – WINNING PARTY
    REPUBLICANS +255
    DEMOCRATS -335
    ANY OTHER PARTY +5500

    2016 ELECTION ODDS – PRESIDENT
    HILLARY CLINTON -330
    DONALD TRUMP +260
    BERNIE SANDERS +7500

I would offer a wager except that:
    1. Democrats can't be trusted to pay up,
    2. Democrats will claim they won, as they did last election,

Tell us how much you cried last election.

"May"? Homey don't think so. "ARE" is the correct word.

    Best regards,
    Your neighbor

    I'm pretty conflicted about this.

On the one hand, Trump has been a terrible disappointment.

On the other hand, I really enjoy seeing the smug anti-Trump establishment lose their minds over his presidency.

I suppose if the political system is going to implode anyway, it might as well be entertaining.

It doesn't really matter to the average voter. If the economy is doing well and Trump is the president, then they will probably vote to maintain the status quo. Generally speaking, people don't like to rock the boat during periods of economic stability. Of course, if the corrupt Democrats would stop trying to rig their primary in favor of Elizabeth Warren, who has no chance against Trump, they might be able to persuade enough independents to take a chance on someone else. But that isn't going to happen and the Democrats are just going to lose again in 2020. And then they're all going to spend the next four years blaming "the Russians" for their loss.

    What are median wages now?

Now that the illegals are being halted by Mexico I can see why they are increasing yet not really that much compared to 2008 and inflation has also increased.

So the end result is wages are higher but purchasing power has not increased while personal debt is at an all time high..

It is neither a trust nor a fund. There's no money there. It's just a bunch of IOUs in the form of non-marketable securities. That means future taxpayers, on top of paying out the nose for their current benefits, must also pay taxes to fund those IOUs in the year they are redeemed.

It's a promise by Congress, nothing more.
