    First off, she's only been Gov since Jan 2019, so there would only be 1 possible year (2019) where she MIGHT have wanted to do this and it didn't happen...

    Actually, this article says they planned July 2020 in May of 2019, so it doesn't seem there was enough time to do it that year..

    So basically, nobody probably had a problem with this until the one-off last year, then returning to the norm this year.... as we have done in so many ways....

    Thanks for the link, I didn't know the fireworks were stopped because of the pine beetle, glad to hear the forests are doing better, it's a shame Biden (or whoever makes the decisions) didn't want to go back to celebrating America at Rushmore this year like we did from 98 to 09 and then again in 2020.

    The only reason they didn't allow it was political, a non partisan would admit it.

    You also won't find any posts of mine "whining" about it during the Obama years, they had it last year, it was deemed safe for the forests and was very popular and beautiful, it was not allowed this year due to political reasons, something you keep skirting.

    Well, since it was disallowed for the 10 years prior to last year, then allowed for a single year, then it reverted to the norm, I'd have to have conclude it was allowed last year due to political reasons...

    They did not have it last year because it was deemed safe for the forests, they had it last year because Trump was going to be there and he approved it.

    The irony here is that it last year was the only time the decision was due to political reasons
