Just saw this video from the BBC..... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-45947409/why-do-trump-s-saudi-job-numbers-keep-growing ......any advance on a million..??
Blimey, as the week passes, the money coming in each day is creating more and more jobs then expected.
You meant that there is no money, that it's an exaggeration by trump, and that there are no jobs being created didn't you?
If you are anti Trump - there is no money, that it's an exaggeration by Trump, and that there are no jobs being created. If you are pro Trump - the money coming in is increasing exponentially daily and thus the jobs. So it's a duel post!
If we had a more literate society, we might have a discussion about just how Orwellian this all is. Truth is whatever Trump and his party say it is.
yeah....it is rather odd isn't it! Its' almost as if he's waging some weird holy against truth.....his rhetoric is one of a second rate prophet flailing around in a morass of half understood and half digested dogma which he thinks he understands but is patently incapable of grasping. But the really sad part of it is...to me at least.... it's now normal for a President of the United States to be a purveyor of half truths, innuendo and gossip...that's what I find rather sad for such an Office. But then I find it rather odd that Americans think that a second rate rent collector is worthy of being a president.....what do I know.... I was interested in your thought..... You got me to thinking about a "post truth world". Is this the case? Can a democracy function when facts become so widely disputed and so fleeting. I don't mean that facts shouldn't be disputed or their meaning argued over, but societies need a bedrock of information to inform their decisions. But if fact is based on the latest tweet or press spokesperson's clarification and if conspiracies and exaggerations become accepted as alternative realities, then it is much more difficult for a "literate society" as you say to judged their leadership in the court of public opinion. Is the enemy of "ordinary" Americans now the "literate" American?
I think our present situation has already offered a negative response to the question. Our democracy is largely dysfunctional already, given how stalled the process has come to be and how polarized the people are. We just can't get much done on any large scale anymore. It takes the president issuing unilateral decrees (executive orders).
aye...but isn't that the case in most "democracies" now? In my small mind it seems we have moved into a system of fleeting consequentialism....action or inaction based on perceived consequences of the newscycle. Fact or fiction is based on the moment rather than strategy.
