Mitch McConnell’s record-long reign as Senate Republican leader has lasted long enough for former President Donald Trump.

Mr. Trump has spoken recently with senators and allies about trying to depose Mr. McConnell and whether any Republicans are interested in mounting a challenge, according to people familiar with the conversations. There is little appetite among Senate Republicans for such a plan, lawmakers and aides said, but the discussions risk driving a wedge deeper between the most influential figure in the Republican Party and its highest-ranking member in elected office.

As expected, Trump continues to wreak havoc on his own party even as a private citizen.

A fratricidal war within the GOP couldn't come at a better time.

And the chances of McConnell losing his title are quite low, which will mean that the two are on a collision course that will be public and hopefully bloody.

    Thoughts ?

Trump's obsession with the few Republicans who have disagreed with him on even just one or two points in recent years is truly remarkable, but not surprising once you understand his personality disorder:

    What is vindictive narcissism?

    ...

A vindictive behavior in someone with narcissistic personality might be an extreme manifestation of their symptoms. It’s usually a result of what some experts call narcissistic rage.

“Often, this individual will personalize any experience that brings into question their own false beliefs,” Hardy explains. “They view differences as personal attacks and respond in ways that attempt to terrorize whoever is responsible.”

In other words, someone with vindictive narcissism may tend to feel extremely and permanently hurt by someone else’s rejection, boundaries, or contradictory behavior. In turn, they may react intensely and with a need to counteract this perceived opponent.

“That opponent is rarely a [true] opponent, but instead how the narcissist has configured them in their minds,” Hardy says.

Vindictive behavior might look different in every case. Sometimes, it might be about sabotaging another person. In other instances, it might be saying something hurtful or using something they know against the person.

The trigger for this vindictive behavior might also be different in every scenario.

Someone with narcissistic personality might react with rage after someone doesn’t give them the attention they seek, if another person gets the promotion they think they deserve, or when someone contradicts them in something they’re saying.

On that, I believe that our '3D chess champion' only wants to settle scores to keep some semblance of power over elected Republicans.

Don't forget that Trump is by far the most rancorous politician this country has seen in 75 years.

TRUMP IS TRYING TO OUST MITCH MCCONNELL LIKE THE VINDICTIVE SOCIOPATH HE IS

GOP cannibalism is pure pleasure to watch.

That Trump continues to have so much influence on this party defies logic.

To think that 60% of Americans believe that it would be bad for the country if Trump were to run again.

At least the vast majority of voters are lucid.

I'll be happy to see a change. It will be interesting to see Trump take his place. It would be the most successful possibility and would make it easier to fill in with a "Patriot Party" , or" American First" candidate as Trump moves on.

Take his place in what sense? Trump already owns the GOP at this point, and it's not like Trump would ever run to be a senator. He wants to see McConnell replaced by some kind of weak-minded loyalist stooge, but that wouldn't be Trump taking McConnell's place.

There's no way for Trump to take McConnell's place. Trump will never run for the senate. He is also not much of a leader, as his term of occupying the White House has shown us, so he can't take up a leadership position anywhere in the GOP. He's only interested in boosting his own ego and getting suckers to give him free money, not in leading a political party. He can't learn to do this, either, since he already knows everything there is to know about everything..

AOC and the rest of the Jew-hating members of 'The Squat' just bullied Speaker Pelosi into removing support for Israel as part of the CR/Debt Ceiling bill. Insiders are saying they dangled the threat of supporting a challenger for to replace her as speaker next time around.

Did they advocate for cutting funding to all other nations to focus on our own debt or are they only targeting Isreal? The first is okay but the second is obviously because of a special dislike of a specific nation or people.

They specifically targeted Israel's Iron Dome - a purely defensive system that protects innocent Israelis from terrorist Hamas rockets.

at what point does it get tiring to debunk your own thread? Clearly he doesn’t have the influence you think he has. Mitch is way more important to the GOP

Because the squad is trying to eliminate Isreal's only defense from the continuous missile bombardment of Hamas and their protection from Iran. It's obvious that the goal of the squad is to eliminate the only Jewish nation on the planet.

Nah, nah bro, nah. That's just one anti-Semite Democrat's empty promise; that a stand alone bill will be presented. Meaning it can be killed before it even reaches the floor whereas including it within this vote (which includes both the CR, the debt ceiling, and the 3.5 TRILLION dollar ""infrastructure"" bill /sarcastic quotes) ensures it gets funded rather than killed.

$1B for a system that protects Israelis from savages terrorists is a drop in the bucket with an incalculable payback and measured against the gut busted bloated pork that farse of an infrastructure bill includes its more than justified. I mean have you even seen some of the nonsense this thing has? Half of the fkin monies are for stuff that has nothing to do with infrastructure whatsoever. If these anti-Semites want to shake loose the excess and vote on them individually I'm all for that. It would mean cutting hundreds and HUNDREDS of line items from their 2317 page bill. Are they doing that? Nah, nah bro nah. They're just singling out Israel because they hate Jews and want to see ""Palestine" (fake country doesn't exist) slaughter them.

I refer to them as 'The Squat' as in the position one assumes when emptying one's bowels of waste. Because that's what these Marxist pro-terrorism communists are; waste.
