How many say it will change their vote? How many say that if the Democrats keep harassing and spending all their time trying to smear Trump and keep up the endless investigations they will vote out the Democrats.

And so are the court cases I cited, the shall is not a total indemnity against the Constitution and the rights of a citizen. Let them go to court and satisfy the court precedent must be for a legitimate legislative purpose. They are NOT a criminal investigation body. The SCOTUS is a check and balance on the Congress, if the Democrats want to try and go down that road with a law they passed then a little of that check and balance is called for.

You just came off of perpetuating a three year 24/7 Russia collusion hoax. And you have the nerve to accuse your intended victim of telling a lie? This is the very essence of hypocrisy. I suspect that Democrats will be going to prison for this. Donald Trump will be re elected. And you will lose the House. The left has no credibility any more. It is a shell.

Yes, because Bonespurs is honest, and there’s no truth to accusations against him.

    LOL!

Those cases have absolutely nothing to do with 26 USC sect. 6103.

Do you imagine that they do? Do tell!

They have to do with Congressional abuse of power. Let's go to court.

And this isn't naked partisan harassment either. Got it.

The modern GOP is all about abusing power. But Congress has an unqualified right to the returns.

Don't worry about Bonespurs' "privacy"; the statute has built-in protections for that.

There's no greater need to look for conflicts regarding the President than with any other member of our government. Even less if you consider wiretaps, embedded spies, and the two year Mueller investigation, all of which turned up zip.

Yes. A specific non-exoneration and 400 pages of "zip".

    *LOL*

Law enforcement using a warrant is how it's done; crying about it by making fabricated claims is silly and embarrassing.

It shouldn't be a problem giving them his last 4 years of tax returns in 2020. He's turned over the family business to one of his sons and he's refused the salary for President. He can just turn over the 1040 EZ single page tax returns.

By the time Congress gets through the courts, if they get his returns, Trump will be out of office from his second term for quite sometime. The courts will see it for what it is, a fishing expedition.

Do you think Trump would release his tax returns because Illinois, just to get on their ballot. Trump whether he's on the ballot or not is going to lose Illinois. This chances of winning goes from zero to nil.

If passed, I would bet that Trump would get the SCOTUS to rule on the constitutionality of it. The constitution is specific on the requirements to be eligible for the presidency. How the SCOTUS would rule to the states enhancing those requirements is anyone's guess.

Now I know article I, section 4 states "The times, places and manner of holding elections for senators and representatives shall be prescribed by the legislatures there of," No mention of the presidency. Now Article II, section one states, "Each state shall appoint in the manner the state legislature shall direct," That doesn't cover enhancing the requirement for eligibility.

Now the states control ballot access, it's there where this might apply. My only question there is since Trump ran once under one set of ballot access laws, would a new set be considered ex post facto law? Again, I have no idea. This could get interesting.

No they don’t. Democratic leadership wants to see Trump’s tax returns to continue an “oversight”. Americans don’t care for them.

You know, Trump excels in situations. He’ll find the way to prevail and embarrass Illinois Democrats at the same time.
    Trust me.

I agree, he certainly excels in lying and then getting his base to ignore those lies.
I would call him a master at it even.

So just to verify; y’all feel states can gerrymander, limit election hours, empose voter restrictions, purge voter rolls — but cannot request an easily produced document?

    Y’alls positions are so interesting.

The only reason “states” and the Congress are interested in Trump’s tax returns is to continue an “oversight”

    You know it, don’t you?

I don’t care how they expose a liar or misdeeds in someone that is supposed to represent all Americans. If they do it under the guise of oversight as laid out in the constitution or by some loophole that forces the truth out I am not only perfectly fine with that, I applaud them.

The only difference between you and myself here is that I hold the same standard for both parties, you only hold it against the half of America you dislike while giving your “team” a free pass.

Would you have been defending Obama if he had said done the same thing trump has done?
Feel free to prove your integrity and not answer that question.

    That’s nothing but speculation.

How about they just comply with the law instead of hiding?

Trump repeatedly promised the American people that he would release his tax returns.

The American people should repeatedly remind him to release his tax returns as he had promised.

Those who are of the opinion that he should persist in his lie about releasing his tax returns are free to tell him that as well.

Because it's a fishing expedition pure and simple, in the same way Obama wouldn't release his birth certificate or College Transcripts.
