Her comments were that she would set aside personal opinions and judge by the letter of the law, exactly the opposite of your statement.

I know what she said. Everybody coaches nominees.

But her track record tells me she isn't ready to play without a net, prob never will be. Because someone will bring this up soon, I am not talking about religion here. This is why the Bork nomination failed, the SC is about to turn into political wrestling, and that will permanently damage the institution.

She'll be fine. She is one vote out of nine and she brings the court to 4-4 with Roberts as a wild card.

    3 and 6.

Roberts isn't a wild card, he's trying to keep his kooks from wrecking the place. He may not be able to do that now. As court expert Epp sort of said, you can't pull this kind of sh*t without things going to sh*t.

How many disasters will it take before you notice the way things are going really suck.

Jeezus. No one is making abortion illegal. This is insanity. Then again. What are leftists whining about? They were OK when the Supreme Court single handedly made SSM legal without a single vote from any citizens. Hmmmm. Interesting.

For whom are things really going to suck?
I suspect it will be the people that are pissed because it did not go their way?
    Thanks Harry Reid.

Pretty much everyone. The economy sucks, our health care situation sucks in a number of different ways, Republicans have lost interest in governing, but their antics are dragging dems down to their level. Education is in decline, and we are going to need to hold a generation back a year. Nobody's got the guts to say it, but obvious sh*t is obvious.

That's a brief and wildly incomplete summary.

A couple posts above, I said I was not talking about religion. However, there is a majority for decisions further restricting abortion. How far they would be willing to go is anyones guess. I'm not worried about it because I remember how women were reacting in 2016. Hell hath no fury, and all that.

I've been saying that for 40 years.

Because you can't run a country this way.

Congress created a political vacuum when it stopped governing. That dragged the courts in. The fix, of course, is a return to our traditions, and bipartisanship.

her track record? i have yet to see you present one of her opinions that support your claims. She’s been on the bench nearly three years i’m sure you could find one....

yes the dems have turned the court into a political football over the years...nothing was more evident of that then how you all treated Kavenaugh. Even RBG was disgusted by the dems behavior

Well, let's take your points one at a time.
Most 401k's are near all time highs in spite of the gift from the Chinese wrecking havoc on the US economy. Does that stun me? Yep. Do I expect it to continue? I wish I had an answer.
I have the same healthcare I have had for well over ten years and it works just fine thank you very much. Would I like it to cost less? Yep. Do I understand I am paying for many that do not have coverage? Yep.
It is hard to govern when congress is busy bickering. That leads to executive orders which the president had managed to do very well.
Education quality is down and I agree but your comment about it being a year is silly. Trump did not create the Chinese virus so you can shitcan that comment. It is the democrats that want the schools shut down and one district in CA even admitted they want them to remain closed until after the election.
The public school system has been in decline for decades and in spite of the high percentage of tax dollars being poured into them, the lack of discipline and attitude of keeping every student at the level of the lowest performers plus the everyone gets a trophy award, we have dug the grave of the Public School system in this country. Thank you Lyndon Johnson.

I used to be a liberal. I have noticed how political disasters over a few decades have made things really stink. You're always welcome to join the right side. :)

    Republicans are a minority party.

Trying to dominate will kill the government, and won't do any kindnesses to the country.

Yeah, well, I'm more libertarian Independent rather than Republican, but the Democrat Party definitely "left" me years ago. I don't think I moved right as much as they keep sprinting toward crazy left land. ;)

The East Coast Establishment ran the Republican party, now they run the Dem party. I call it the Corporate Wing. They are a long, long ways from "left land".

So I don't know what you see as crazy..

Hard to imagine, when they impeached a man for winning an election.

And then there is this "new thing" which Democrat leaders don't want to talk about....

He was impeached for trying to steal an election. Of course, you'd never see him try to do it again, by screwing with the mail, messing with voting, oh, who's kidding who, trying to mess with the election is most of what he does now.

We talk about it all the time. You don't want to hear it.

The democrats dash to change the election laws last minute in an obvious attempt to steal an election they know they can't win.

It'll make the victory so much sweeter when those millions of fraudulent ballots they mailed out to their democrat voters get thrown out, the tainted ones along with the good ones, by Justice Amy Coney Barrett.

    1. Abuse of Power
    2. Obstruction of Congress

There were no crimes committed, and both of those charges are so watered down and weak that any time in the future that the House of Representatives is led by the opposite party from the president, every president will be impeached on those weak grounds without any crime.

Democrat party leaders surely are setting some great precedents at lowering the trust and integrity bar all the way to ground level. In fact, I think they've thrown the bar away into a dumpster and some far-left rioter set it on fire.

Why do you make statements you know are false?

You actually have a part of a point in there. The Dems made a much weaker case than they could have because they didn't want the public to tune out because it was complicated.

Your last sentence is a masterpiece of projection, well done.

Actually I made a whole point there. Just because you rejected part is not really relevant. Democrats significantly weakened the seriousness of impeachment and turned it into nothing but another partisan political tool. If you think that part was a "win" for your side of the aisle, then that is your opinion. You might change your mind next time a Democrat president is impeached for "Abuse of Power" or "Obstruction". :)

    Naw.

But there has been one purely political impeachment. The Republicans knew going in that Whitewater was Hillary, not Bill. After that went nowhere, they went on a fishing expedition. That was prosecutorial misconduct no judge would have ever tolerated, and represents a complete break with the traditions of Congress and the intent of the Founding Fathers.

Dems had more than enough to impeach Trump.

    There are.
And the fact you know your statement...:
He was impeached for trying to steal an election.
    ...is false, exceeds them.

Why do you make statements you know are false?
