"President Donald Trump is predicting that the November election will be "the most corrupt election in the history of our country," while spreading false claims and inaccurate statements about widespread voter fraud.

Speaking to students in Arizona on Tuesday evening, the President took aim at states' efforts to expand voting by mail in order to encourage Americans to continue to social-distance amid the coronavirus pandemic, which has killed more than 100,000 Americans.

"The Democrats are also trying to rig the election by sending tens of millions of ballots using the China virus as the excuse for allowing people not to go to the polls," Trump claimed, later adding: "This will be, in my opinion, the most corrupt election in the history of our country, and we cannot let this happen." "

Trump is scared. He can see the writing on the wall that he is going to lose in November, and is already making excuses. I don't know if he will use this excuse as a way to stay in office after he loses, or just delegitimize the results so he doesn't look like a loser, but this ranks right up there as one of the most dangerous, anti-American things he has done.

Let's be very clear about this: he is making this up. There is no evidence of widespread mail-in voter fraud (actually no evidence of widespread voter fraud at all), and no federal or state agency has raised the concerns that he raises. He is simply telling us, without any basis, that we should not believe the results of the election if he loses.

The peaceful transition of power from one administration to the next is a hallmark of western democracies. In calling the results of an election into question - in advance, and without any basis - he sounds like a banana republic dictator. Not POTUS.

This is dangerous. This is scary. The man needs to be removed from office.

Trump votes by mail - but wants to deny others the same right?

 

Those good people need to open their eyes and think of what is best for America. Not policies or politics, but for the nation in the long term.

He is attacking some of the fundamental American values, and people who consider themselves to be patriots are cheering him on in the destruction of the country.

 

Those good People opened their eyes in the past and voted for Hussain Obama .. He sure was worse than Trump.

This crow is going to be a tough crow to eat when he wins and the Democrats call the election into question. Just like they did last time.

 

Democrats didn’t call the election into question. Nobody disputed that he won the votes to be president. The intelligence agencies said Russia interfered to affect the outcome in favor of trump but nobody claimed the votes themselves were fraudulent.

Trump is preparing the groundwork to claim that the vote itself will be wrong - if he loses. That’s what dictators do to hold onto power.

I fear that if he loses (which is a real possibility), he may, at the very least, float the idea of not leaving office. In the end he won’t stay, but even floating the idea will be an attack on democracy.

 

What's good about them?

 

Not dangerous or scary at all. So long as each voter requests their mail-in ballot. If mass mailing of ballots occur then I believe the Post Master General will suspect voter fraud once ballots are discovered that were mailed to deceased, incarcerated or no longer residing citizens and will hold all ballots for an investigation. Once a fictitious ballot is dropped in a mail box it becomes a federal crime.

You mean the way the Obama Administration handled the transition to Trump? By Labor Day this country will see evidence of that “peaceful” transition in the form of indictments.

If his poll numbers do not improve leading up to the election, his rhetoric is only to get more inflammation
He is probably trying to get the notion of a rigged election early on so as to sate his ego.

 

Where did he say he wanted to deny voters that option? It is the other side trying to deny the option of voting in person. Trump is right to bring this issue to the surface.
