Trump presents Emperors Cup to Japanese Sumo Champion

DJT45 is in Japan to meet Japans new emperor.

He was the guest of honor at the Emperors Cup, which is like the Stanley Cup of Sumo.

Sumo is one of the historic martial arts of Japan.

The Champion is Asyano Hideki, who had never won a tournament before, and now he is being presented with the Emperors Cup, which weighs over 60 pounds.





Trump clearly is loved in Japan.

Japan really does love Trump.

Look, celebrate his diplomacy there, I hear he was well-received over all, but a small gathering holding up a few signs (one of whom at least is one of those Q Anon whack jobs), doesn't really say much. I've seen bigger crowds gather just to celebrate a Harry Potter themed filk band, and none of them were as unhinged as those Q Anon asylum escapees.

 

If you think there are 'Q anon whack jobs' in Japan, then you have a clear disrespect for our Japanese allies, whom we've been allied virtually over a century with only the 6 years of WWII separating us. That is, ties that go beyond both parties and by several scores of administrations.

 

Its not just about diplomacy. Its about building relationships.

I would have a lot of fun on a trip to Japan like this.

 

Japan is like America's little brother. Even more than the UK, it exemplifies our true values of peace, diplomacy and inner strength. Everyone around the world knows not to F with Japan. The world was put on notice when they beat the Russians in WW1. That's why we reforged ties after WWII, because we're smart enough to know that country is more then capable of rising up to the top, and we want to be chummy with them when they are.

 

I'd probably say the UK due to its closer cultural bonds to the US, but they are a force to be reckoned with.

One thing thats nice about Japan compared to much of the rest of Asia-it was never run by communists.

After WW2 they squashed that pretty fast, in one case a Japanese communist was killed on stage with a samurai sword.
