No need at all to block testimony of McGhan! Trump asked if it was ok to fire Mueller. McGahn said no and that was end of it. If McGhan had fired Mueller or if Trump had fired McGahn and/or Mueller directly it still would be no big deal since Trump can fire his employees within executive branch at will, especially in this case when he knew there was no collusion but rather a deep state conspiracy to take down an iconoclastic American president.

Not sure how base would have reacted or how good Trump would have been at explaining deep state conspiracy to over throw sitting American president.

    Oh, I wish he had.

"If Trump had fired McGahn and/or Mueller directly it still would be no big deal since Trump can fire his employees within executive branch at will."

Trump's fans keep saying that. If the investigation involves the President, the issue is not whether he can fire someone. Obviously, he can. The issue is, is it prudent to fire someone? Is the President trying to impede an investigation of himself? If so, that could turn out to be harmful to the President.

For some reason, Trump fans have hard time understanding that concept.

I was going to respond to this, but it is just too funny. I especially busted a gut over the "deep state conspiracy to take down an iconoclastic American president."

That would have been just another piece of evidence supporting obstruction of justice.

How about Trump is guilty of obstructing an illegal coup to remove him from office? Now see about getting that hernia fixed. :roflol:

This whole thing is very much deja vu.

    Saturday Night Massacre

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturday_Night_Massacre
The Saturday Night Massacre is the name popularly applied[1] to the series of events that took place in the United States on the evening of Saturday, October 20, 1973, during the Watergate scandal. U.S. President Richard Nixon ordered Attorney GeneralElliot Richardson to fire independent special prosecutor Archibald Cox; Richardson refused and resigned effective immediately. Nixon then orderedDeputy Attorney General William Ruckelshaus to fire Cox; Ruckelshaus refused, and also resigned. Nixon then ordered the third-most-senior official at theJustice Department, Solicitor General Robert Bork, to fire Cox. Bork considered resigning, but did as Nixon asked. The political and public reaction to Nixon's actions were negative and highly damaging to the president. A new special counsel was appointed eleven days later on November 1, 1973,[2] and on November 14, 1973, a court ruled that the dismissal had been illegal.[3][4]

How would that impede an investigation?

Is Mueller the only person in the nation qualified to run an investigation?

It's only an impediment if it stops the investigation which it wouldn't have. Someone else would have just picked up right where Mueller left off.

    You guys are funny.

Hasn't this been a common theme in books and anonymous letters to the editor, that we have been reading over the past two years. That the people around Trump have been subverting his orders.

Whoooops. Individual 1 told McGahn to fire Mueller. McGahn told Individual 1 to pound sand.

An obstructive act, once ordered, is not contingent on whether it succeeds.

    Next.

Yes, but what if there is no bank robber either?

It wasn't like they tried to collude and failed to do so, quite the opposite in fact.

There doesn't have to be a crime for obstruction, but one has to wonder why their was an investigation to obstruct to begin with.

But yes, Trumps subordinates where the only thing that saved him on obstruction.

I know its hard for a libsocialist but can you put into words why you busted a gut?? As a liberal do you even know that having a feeling is not enough. You need a reason and need to be able to communicate the reason.

Actually Mueller found no collusion or obstruction. Had they found either they would have impeached Trump. Notice how you are brainwashed to ignore facts?? Embarrassing! You're handlers would be proud.

How do you know Nixon ordered a burglary? It was all lies and fake news. The deep state and Martians were behind the whole thing.

even if true so what? Trump is a businessman not a constitutional scholar. That's what expert staff is for. A wise leader knows what experts to listen to. Now do you understand?
