Sadly Liberals do not have a better alternative. 1) Many Liberals display much greater bigotry. Some Liberals claim that all men, not just illegal immigrant men are oppressors. Here. 2) Respectable Liberal publications claim that "If you are a man, you are part of rape culture. I know ... that sounds rough. You’re not a rapist, necessarily. But you do perpetuate the attitudes and behaviors commonly referred to as rape culture."Here. 3) NYT claims that men are innately monstrous. Here. Of course many men can be useful to Liberal establishment. But once they are accused, they are no longer useful and discarded. Chris Matthews.
Trump's quote was correctly interpreted by supporters as "They're bringing [their] drugs. They're bringing [their] crime. [They're bringing] their rapists." In other words, not they are rapists, but bringing their rapists. And that is true with the MS-13 gang members and human traffickers who make a living importing/exporting drugs, money and humans across the border. In context, that's not bigoted. Other than that, yes, the far-left is far more likely to throw out bigoted smears against identity groups, like the current target of "men bad", and particularly "white men bad". Only when it's convenient, of course. Sanders gets away with "rich men bad". One would hope that the transparent hypocrisy of identity politics would make itself an extinct political strategy some day.
Thank you! To a great degree, Liberals who smear whole birth groups are very far from Classical Liberalism. In that respect, many Modern Liberals are much further from the old ideal of Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity then Conservatives.
Rapists were coming across the border because the women within these groups were getting raped. That is all undisputed and documented. And any body with commonsense would know that Trump wasn't saying ALL were rapists....but rapists were coming across the border.
Mexico is not sending their best. Do you think normal people jump over border walls and illegally enter other countries? It's not the least bit surprising that a high percentage among this crowd are thugs and criminals. Mexico does have a middle class. It may not be a very huge or thriving middle class, but it does exist. These are not the people illegally crossing. And the sad truth is, those in power in Mexico are all too happy to see these people leave. Why would they have any incentive to stop it? They are offloading their problems onto someone else. They didn't have a problem with Hondurans coming from their southern border, as long as those Hondurans were headed further north to illegally make their way into the US.
I do not consider President Trump to be perfect. He has many faults. Unfortunately, most Liberals tolerate much worse bigotry from their camp. President Trump is bigoted, but less so then most Liberal candidates.
