Why do you repeat a moot point? All the information provided states in no uncertain terms that Miller was "recollecting"....telling his side of the story. Unfortunately for you, it was corroborated by the Defense Department. To date, no right wing pundit or sycophant has provided valid, documented proof to the contrary.

And PUH-LEEZE get an adult to explain to you the difference between a conversation of what should be done and a DIRECT ORDER IN THE CHAIN OF COMMAND. This is why Miller stated, " ... Maybe. But you know, someone’s going to have to ask for it.’" Dump's speculation is NOT an order, nor is he explicit in telling Miller "you do exactly this". Essentially, Miller didn't have the sole authority for such an order.

But it's documented that Dump went on record CLAIMING that he made such an 'order' and was counter-manded by Pelosi.

That was a lie on both counts. A matter of history, a matter of fact that you can't BS or weasel past.

No BS here, I speak what I believe to be the truth. You gave me a link that told me something I didn't know, and I'm grateful. I didn't know that the former SECDEF said that Trump said 10000, and get it done. I served in USAF for 10 years, and if I heard that from my superior, I would definitely consider it an order.

That said, with an order of this gravity, that can't be the totality of the order. There must be some written documents with signatures involved. But my chiefs would often have me type up paperwork like that myself, and then take it to them to sign. So, being in Miller's shoes, I would have responded that I was going to the office to type up (insert relevant form). It would have been a simple way to confirm the order.

So I guess both Trump and Miller have to answer for why no follow through on what appears to be an order?

"... I speak what I believe to be the truth. "

And there lies the problem....what you "believe" and what are the logical, fact based conclusions are two different things. Dump made declarative statements that simply were NOT true. I proved that in no uncertain terms. Waffling and "the other guy screwed up too" doesn't change the initial point that you defended. You put forth a LOT of supposition and conjecture as if it changes the core truth of this discussion.

    It doesn't.

Flat out, you were wrong. No round-a-bout way. Just own up.

How is "Get it done" when face to face with a superior, not an order?

In what fantasy world do I have to live in to construe those words as meaning anything else?

Explain this and we can talk about who was wrong.

Now you're just being stubborn to the point of insipidness. Taking an out of context quote doesn't cut in in a printed medium. As the conversation went, " ...The president, Miller recalled, asked how many troops the Pentagon planned to turn out the following day. "We’re like, ‘We’re going to provide any National Guard support that the District requests,’" Miller responded. "And (Trump) goes, ‘You’re going to need 10,000 people.’ No, I’m not talking bullshit. He said that. And we’re like, ‘Maybe. But you know, someone’s going to have to ask for it.’" At that point Miller remembered the president telling him, "‘You do what you need to do. You do what you need to do.’ He said, ‘You’re going to need 10,000.’ That’s what he said. Swear to God."

A Defense Department spokesman said the department "has no record of such an order being given" by Trump.

then Trump tells the American people

I requested … I definitely gave the number of 10,000 National Guardsmen, and [said] I think you should have 10,000 of the National Guard ready. They took that number. From what I understand, they gave it to the people at the Capitol, which is controlled by Pelosi. And I heard they rejected it because they didn’t think it would look good. So, you know, that was a big mistake.”

This was a lie on all levels:

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...he-requested-10000-troops-rejected-by-pelosi/

Get someone to explain to you the difference between a direct military ORDER and a "suggestion" during a conversation. Trump, ever the weasel, didn't officially give the order as to not be culpable if anything went wrong.....then he lies to America, saying that his "order "was countermanded by Peolosi.

Whether you accept the reality of the situation or not is irrelevant. Trump lied and was caught with facts and the official record, your personal beliefs, interpretations, supposition and conjecture non-withstanding.

    Because apparently you can't.

SUPERIOR (to SUBORDINATE): "Get it done."

Can someone please explain how this can be construed as anything but an order.

Oh, you understand....you're just in denial of the logic.

Trump said, "You do what you need to do". but he DID NOT GIVE THE DIRECT ORDERS NECESSARY FOR A 10k DEPLOYMENT. He claimed he did, which was lie, then he claimed Pelosi countermanded him, another lie. As Commander-in-Chief, it was his job to get on the phone to the Defense Dept. to give that order, not Miller.

    Got that now?

Where was all his published concern for the National Guard during the "back door draft" of the Shrub's bogus invasion/occupation of Iraq? Then they were above and beyond their contractual obligations. And what's all this stuff about rotten/poisoned food? Did I miss something in the article you linked?

No I don't. You need to explain the meaning of the phrase: direct orders necessary.

Exactly what phraseology should Trump have used to "order" Miller to get 10k NG?

Actually, you need to knock off this insipidly stubborn act, as the Defensive department contradicted Trump that they received no order from him
Hopefully, the following will put an end to your willful ignorance on the subject. I suggest you read it thoroughly and comprehensively, so that I don't have to waste time using excerpts to address your insipid stubbornness and false confusion. VERIFY: Who controls the National Guard and how are they deployed? (msn.com)

I said it appears Trump gave the order, and you said what Trump said didn't qualify as the direct orders necessary. I then queried the meaning of this phrase, and you posted this link. That link does not explain the meaning of that phrase. It doesn't mention it. It also does not say what specific verbiage Trump must use to qualify as an order.

So again, "Get it done.", from superior to subordinate, sounds like an order to me, and you have failed to explain why it isn't.

All the objective reader has to do is just READ the linked article, where they will come across these little facts:
... according to the Army National Guard's website, the National Guard serves a dual role, carrying out both state and federal missions.

"For state missions, the governor, through the state Adjutant General, commands Guard forces," they write online. "The governor can call the National Guard into action during local or statewide emergencies, such as storms, fires, earthquakes or civil disturbances. In addition, the President of the United States can activate the National Guard for participation in federal missions."

However, the DC National Guard in a unique situation, since they are controlled solely by the federal government, according to the DC National Guard website. That means they are the only National Guard unit out of all 54 states and territories that reports only to the President.

So, anyone with a GED should have the reading comprehension skills to see that Miller DID NOT have the authority to put 10k guard troops in DC on Jan. 6th, and the Defense Dept. receive no such order from Trump. Trump did NOT put in the order, nor did the governor of any border state.

That's it, folks. The Global Citizen can repeat his opinion and revisionist clap trap until doomsday, but the STANDING LAW will always be his undoing. I have no further interest in entertaining GC's upcoming parroting of a failed and untrue personal assertion, as he will undoubtedly NOT accept reality. He's done.

According to your "fact check" site, Miller said Trump said, "Get it done." That phrase is the authority! The DoD wouldn't get the order from Trump. Gen Walker runs the NG unit. Miller is his direct superior. Trump is Miller's boss. Maybe you should Google chain of command, before you weigh in on a topic in which understanding chain of command is crucial to comprehending the debate.

I've read the relevant sections of the 2007 NDA before joining the thread. I don't need your website summary of the authority of various agencies. I'm talking about what people said and did on or around Jan 6.

I'm still waiting on the phraseology that Trump should have used to constitute an order to Miller.

Regardless of your quibbling, the released information proves Fake Impeachment 2 was an intentional lie.
Pelosi didn't like the optics of deploying troops offered to her, even if late. She said no. Then her minions put that second item into the indictment.
Pelosi likes the optics of surrounding the Capitol with fence, razor wire, and 20,000 troops, now. What changed?

She can falsely blame Trump and his supporters, claim I'm an existential threat. Was that the goal all along?
