Today, we confirmed with the President-elect that our small Lincoln utility vehicle made at the Louisville Assembly Plant will stay in Kentucky,” the company said in a statement. “We are encouraged that President-elect Trump and the new Congress will pursue policies that will improve U.S. competitiveness and make it possible to keep production of this vehicle here in the United States.”

In a follow-up email exchange, a Ford spokeswoman confirmed that the MKC production had been slated to move to Mexico.

Ahem... I dont expect many Hilary fans to read past the headline so i quoted the article for you( them)

    continued.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...ing-a-plant-to-mexico-but-it-was-planning-to/
This week, Ford chief executive Mark Fields reiterated that it was moving forward with plans to shift production of the Ford Focus to Mexico from Michigan.
Trump has criticized those plans, which the company says will not cost any American jobs, because other models will be produced in the Michigan plant instead.

This isn't the first time Trump has misstated facts about a Ford move. In October 2015, he tweeted that the company had halted plans to build a factory in Mexico and would locate in Ohio instead, and he claimed credit for the decision. The company said he was wrong, and that it was continuing to build its plant in Mexico.

Can't be, the libs here and the pundits and the think tanks and the politicians all told us that Trump is full of it and keeping/returning these jobs is impossible. We should all believe them, not our own eyes.

I think many Clinton voters will be as pleased by this news as we are. A lot of working class Democrats voted for Trump.

Newsflash Michigan and Kentucky are not the same. Yes he should take credit for helping to retain some jobs.

    Again

Today, we confirmed with the President-elect that our small Lincoln utility vehicle made at the Louisville Assembly Plant will stay in Kentucky,” the company said in a statement. “We are encouraged that President-elect Trump and the new Congress will pursue policies that will improve U.S. competitiveness and make it possible to keep production of this vehicle here in the United States.”

    Also

Trump has criticized those plans, which the company says will not cost any American jobs, because other models will be produced in the Michigan plant instead.

    No job loss..

Again its the WP trying to take good news and spin it to bad all to create a smear piece.

Lena Dunham says she's staying in the US as well after she promised she would emigrate. I guess we can't always get what we want.

Now they know better. Support for the Trump administration from the American productive working class will expand rapidly with this news.

She should apply for an assembly line job at that saved Ford plant. She might even learn something and gain some respect for Americans who now hold her in contempt.

But the company confirmed Friday that it had been “likely” to move the work to Mexico in 2019 when its current contract with the United Auto Workers union expires.

“We had planned to move the Lincoln MKC out of Louisville Assembly Plant," probably to the Cuautitlan factory in Mexico, Christin Baker, a Ford spokeswoman, said in an e-mail.

Are you claiming Baker is lying?

We will know soon. There is a lot of oil in the world now. The price of oil and ultimately gas should drop over time.

None of those celebrities who said they'd move are going anywhere. Big shocker...just tantrums and hollow threats.

Good for the relatively few factory workers, bad for everyone who needs to buy a car that is not a factory worker. I don't understand how so many can be happy about a product being more expensive. If someone wants to build a car for me for slave wages then I'm gong to let them do it! Idiots. Oh btw, this is only a reprieve for the blue collar guys anyway. The robots are coming, might as well adapt now and let us have our cheap goods.

The flight of US manufacturing is a fact. The fact that it is stopping with the election of Trump is a fact.
The UK Independent is in advanced state of denial - I feel their pain. ;-)
