So you really think that it was of no interest that West-Germany as frontial state in cold war is not becoming a communist country as East Germany was?
Look about Gladio please, which was not only in Italy given!

One of the proudest moments in recent human history was the german people standing up to the communist oppression and reuniting their country by force of will without violence.

Then just a few decades later you are whining about providing for your own defense. 1.2% of gdp
Yes it was of great interest to keep West Germany from falling to the communists that is why America prevented it for nearly half a century and why I said you are welcome.

Of course the agricultural lobby is one of many reasons it's so difficult to get simple enforcement of the law in regards to illegal labor.

It isn't being enforced. I see lots of construction around me and riding past these houses being worked on I know there are some illegals. Yes there are laws on the books, but there is no political will to enforce them beyond a few token round-ups. I'll believe ICE is actually doing something beyond theatre when I see it. The fact is company owners depend on this cheap labor. Company owners are political donors. There is plenty of incentive for illegals to risk getting here. Take away the incentive will eliminate the problem, yet we are still here, with illegals still wanting to be here.

It is good for some companies. Otherwise they would not hire them.

You see it, report it. Those who keep complaining about employers not being held accountable need to stop crying and start taking action ( mostly applies to another poster here).

I have no problem with what I see. I'm cool with companies hiring illegals. The jobs I see them doing I wouldn't want anyway. Swinging a hammer and walking on house frames 20-30 feet above the ground with no net? **** that. There are more white dudes on these sites as far as I can see as well. Not one person I know has complained that they can't find a job because there are too many illegals working in the industry.

A few years ago a strawberry farm near me had a shortage of pickers(not enough migrants that year) and put out an ad offering $12 an hour no experience needed of course. A great job for a teenager or someone in college. They barely got a response. Americans don't want to do this work anymore. We have become dependent on migrants. Deal with it, dude.

And if you are over 25 and you can't get a job in your field because of illegals you need to tighten up because that is sad AF.

The US takes in around a million legal immigrants the majority come from Mexico. I would think many of them would do these jobs. Or maybe there can be a program to have people on unemployment to work temporarily on these jobs.

So what's more important, some companies or the state? Because lawlessness certainly is not good for the state.

It most certainly is a net gain for the economy, thus being good for the state.

Bollocks! It's good for some companies who benefit from cheat labour but it's bad for everybody else, i.e. the citizens/state since it cultivates disrespect for the law.

Oh bollocks to you as well. The few illegals I know are solid workers and pretty quiet guys. They aren't criminals other that their immigration status. They aren't cultivating disrespect for the law.

Wanna know who is cultivating disrespect for the law? Trump. He throws every damned intelligence agency under the bus because he hates the scrutiny. Boo freakin' hoo. Clinton got impeached for getting some ass in the oval office and lying about it. Trump had members of his team actively engage the Russians. These are facts. Which do you find more troubling? Getting some ass from a plump intern and lying about it to save face or the chummy relationship Trump has with Putin?

Respect for the law....the irony of a Trump supporter bringing that up is insanely ironic.

That is the least they could do.
