The ocean problem is not in large part us. We need to get the countries that DO dump and are responsible for it to STOP.

"It turns out that five countries are the leading contributors to this crisis. And all are in Asia.

In a recent report, Ocean Conservancy claims that China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam are spewing out as much as 60 percent of the plastic waste that enters the world’s seas.

    https://www.pri.org/stories/2016-01-13/5-countries-dump-more-plastic-oceans-rest-world-combined.

And that stuff travels west to east in the oceans and we get some it and there's a huge mass of it out there.

We process and landfill here and that doesn't get in the oceans or waterways. I don't think any coastal communities dump in the oceans.

Any minute now, we'll see the RWers asking for expansion of the EPA.

Yeah, and I consider that the same as putting sanctions on a country. Their actions are costing us ecologically and economically.

Who started the EPA? I'll wait for you to figure it out.

    Does that matter?
What party has been wanting to basically abolish it?

    A joke?

if that was a "joke", then Trump's entire "Environmental Policy" would qualify as a $300 Million Dollar Comedy Blockbuster.

Nope, not in the least. What happened decades ago, has not much relevance to today.

Whatever, you're sad attempt at criticizing Trump for signing the Save Our Seas Act is unwarranted and does nothing for unity in the US. But, if you are on the left these days, unity is not what you really want. Identity politics is as divisive as anything, and that is what the left lives by.

Nope. Just the Republican Party, the party which he is currently the highest elected official of.

Yep, the party that wants to neuter the EPA. You seem overly emotional about this.
    I am for no pollution.

This proclamation will one day be found submerged in the trash in the sea.

I am a registered republican and I will have my BS in environmental science conferred at the end of this month. Summa Cum Laude too.

Just because some Republicans are opposed to the EPA doesn't mean the entire party. Just like some Democrats are not racist, but that doesn't mean that there are no racist Dems.

Right, because NOAA will just disregard federal money in the amount of $10 a year until 2022.

    You are a surfer?

Kudos to Trump but that still didn't make that any easier to read. For **** sake I swear I get headaches whenever I read his speeches. I forgot but did he mention that other countries are dumping debris into the ocean, I might have missed that part.

If you are a R, you should know what they want to do to the EPA.

The GOP’s plans for environmental regulation are hardly a secret. The Senate’s new leadership includes a majority leader who promised he would “get the EPA reined in,” an environmental chairman who thinks global warming is a hoax, and a newly elected senator who would like to eliminate the EPA altogether.
    https://newrepublic.com/article/120228/what-expect-gop-war-epa

And my very 1st post in the thread was, now the RW will want to expand the EPA. And you got all emotional.

Oh, you are an Al Gore worshipper? Watch Trump actually do something about the oceans and the ecology while Al Gore burned jet fuel raking in millions flapping his gums and not achieving anything.

    What a hypocrite he is.

    Critical?
I posted a joke, the party that wants to neuter the EPA, has the prez do an environmental protection.
That's gonna take profits form American businesses, and give an advantage to other countries. That is what the RW always says about regulating pollution.
