just fund PBS news more. The nation does need a national news outlet that is not owned by multinational corporations. Nightly debates on topics consisting of a rotation of 10 left and right journalists submitted by American association of journalists and authors, also among policymakers on both aisles. Then debates among congressmen on the committees that they both share seats.

I think the current state of affairs in the media today is terrible. It's a redo of the Yellow Journalism perfected by the likes of William Randolph Hearst.

I'm not necessarily in favor of any kind of state run media, (NPR is a hybrid though), but I get the sentiment the President is expressing.

 

I don't get the sentiment at all, especially from a conservative. if there is a void in the market for news, let someone develop a business plan that will make a profit from it. This hypocrisy from the president is glaring.

 

I think the President is good at getting people to talk about issues. His suggestion has certainly resulted in that.

The MSM, as it is comprised today, is a corrupt and ideologically driven fraud machine.

Perhaps the Presidents suggestion will stimulate people to further reject what the MSM has become, and it will do something about it on its own.

 

He can't help the 40% with TDS caused by the MSM and celebrity propaganda machine.

 

I think that is all it is, to bring attention to issues important to him and perhaps his base. He's done this before like with the Space Force. If it was important to make it happen, he would have pushed more for it.

 

And think about it in the context of heads exploding on the left at the outrageous suggestion that the Federal Government run it's own news service......

With Trump you never know and it's folly to let any of his "ideas" get a pass as a joke. We all thought the wall was a joke and would never happen because it's such a worthless joke. Look how that is playing out. Government shutdown in a temper tantrum followed by diverting military funds and soldier's time (the military has to build it if military funds get used). For a wall that will stop not one gram of drugs and not more than a tiny handful of illegals.
