I don't hang out here much, and I see there is some discussion about the President's tweets, etc.

I always felt that Trump was hilarious in his way long before he was even a candidate....watched him on talk shows and The Apprentice and all that. And through the election, his behavior, insane but entertaining somehow. And I, like many, including many many many Republicans (including his opponents...Jeb and everyone else who thought he was "unhinged") found it amazing that he could not only do well but actually become the President.

Just saw his wrestling vid. Just really seems bizarre that he is President.

I would really be embarrassed if I supported this guy. Seems beyond the pale. Some thought he was trying to lose with his antics...or be a spoiler of some sort...never with the intention of actually winning.

It's practically like the movie Idiocracy come true!

Anyway, just wondering if anyone who supported him has had a change of heart.

    Thanks.

96% of his voters say they'd do it again. Now, ask Hillary's voters.... :roflol:

I think the more tell-tale statistic is his approval rating, still hovering in the mid-30s. So I believe a lot of his adherents are dissatisfied, but willing to give him more time.

Yeah...according to the same leftbubble Fake News polls that had Hillary winning in a landslide.

A "more telling statistic" is that the GOP is 5-0 in special elections since Trump took office, and EVERY ONE WAS FRAMED BY THE LOSERCRATS and the FAKE NEWS MEDIA AS A "REFERENDUM ON TRUMP".

    5 - 0.

    Getting the picture, yet?

His most ardent supporters will never fully have a change of heart. They are a self-ascribed victim class who claim to be oppressed because society looks down on them for being a bunch of heartless racist *******s that, for some reason or another, consider themselves the only rightful inhabitants of a country that they work day and night to tear down.

Trump is the embodiment of their ideals: A piece of **** with a big mouth who was born into money and is seen as a great "leader" even though he has shown none of the traits of a great leader but instead devolves into behavior that most 6 year olds would be chastised for.

Trump has no morals, no ethics, no sense of shame, and definitely no leadership abilities beyond convincing a bunch of self-serving idiots that they're are the real downtrodden class in America.

Some people are saying it's because he is overcompensating for other inadequacies...

You don't have to convince me that the Republicans are winning elections. Their victories in the 2016 election, at both the National and State levels, were overwhelming. The Oligarchs are having their way in our society. The billions that they are pumping into organizations like Judicial Watch, the Heritage Foundation, Breitbart, FOX, and many, many more have Americans convinced that they are supporting some greater cause, rather than lining the pockets of the 1%ers.

Yes, Trump does act less than presidential in many ways, that's true.
And no doubt some of his strongest supporters are quite upset by some of his antics.

And even when he is serious, he does not explain himself well or make the right defense against his critics. For example, I wish he would quit calling the other networks "fake news" because that implies they are often reporting false stories, or spinning to a point it creates a totally false impression. That is not the problem. The problem is ALL of these networks purposefully fail to report on the bad sins and scandals of the left --- always. They only report what absolutely has to be revealed --- such as when it was announced Hillary had destroyed 30,000 emails ---- but just as quickly, stopped reporting on it --- stopped investigating it --- stopped pressuring the government or others to bring this criminal act to justice. The media also does not care or report on that no one EVER gets convicted and sent to prison on any of these major scandals, including the IRS scandal.

Trump is the best alternative of any candidate who ran for office, except maybe Huckabee, as he too would not be afraid to shake up Washington. So what is everyone bitching about? Are they suggesting Hillary was better for this nation? And they dare call themselves wise, honest or honorable?

Of course. That's the standard liberal response.

    That's why they don't matter.

It's the same with those of us who voted third party because we detested both major party candidate. I don't think Trump's antics has changed a thing among his avid supporters. It was his antics that they loved along with his fighting spirit.

From the day Trump announced he was running, another poster, Thirty6BelowZero and I were in his corner 100 percent. I'll be honest, I wasn't sure if a guy who was never in politics before could handle such a responsibility, and the constant bashing by the left almost had me a little worried, but so far Trump hasn't done anything that I don't approve of, In fact, he would do even better if the left and deep state didn't distract him or bog down his agenda with BS and BS. Yes, sometimes I wish he didn't Tweet something, but it probably feels good taking a victory lap every day against those who write fake news about him and give him no credit at all.

The time will come, soon I hope, when the investigations of democrats take center stage and Trump is left alone to do his thing. we've already seen how the Russian thing died and pretty much the only thing the left has left is 'we don't like him.' Well, we cons didn't like Obama and we didn't need our diapers changed every hour like many liberal do. So in the words of Obama, eat your peas.

    Thanks for the various replies.

I suppose this may be asking a lot in today's world, but it would be great if there was no name calling of any kind, insults, etc. or any reference to anything other than Trump and whether you, as a supporter, have had a change of heart in any way.

And there's no point in referencing Democrats or Hillary...I would obviously assume you would never support any of them no matter who they are or what they may do.

You could reference, however, other Republican candidates that you perhaps wish you would have supported instead.

    Thanks.

We love the Video and we love his Tweets. This is why the American Electorate chose him as President. He represents the rejection of the Establishment and their Propagandists, the MSM.

Still waiting for Trump to make good on his promises. So far, there is no wall, no tax reform, the ACA is still in effect, and no significant legislation to make this country great again has been passed.

But, we don't need to worry about any of that. Nothing really needs to get done, because it's more entertaining (and according to some, more presidential) for Trump to keep up his twitter wars with the fight of the day.

Anyone realize that Trump is very close to his first face to face meeting with Putin? Or are you still worried about Trump's tweets with MSNBC?

I'd really prefer if the media would report on what is going on, rather than whatever comes out of the orange bloviating gasbag that is currently in the Oval Office.

I suppose I can understand someone "standing up" to "propagandists".

But you don't find his manor and demeanor unbecoming of the United States? Distracting and foolish? A wrestling video? Just to reference Hillary or any Democrat one last time, but if she posted a video such as that, as well as so many other incidences, I would think she had gone off the rails. An embarrassment to the country.

You don't feel that part of "Making America Great Again" is dignity? I would think Republicans would be all about that.I think one of the reasons the news seems like BS is because it's filled up all day, day after day, with his antics.

No change of heart. In fact 1) I'm more pleased than I thought I'd be at this point and 2) next time I'll vote for him twice. His campaign song, We're not going to take it any more, sums up my ongoing feeling

We could have chosen Jeb! and the Media would have pushed him around like a rag doll. I like Trump's approach better. CNN's parent company supports the mock slaughter of Trump in the Ceasar play, but they wet themselves over an obvious mock up of the take down of a logo? Give me a break.
Trump spends 3 seconds on a tweet, the media covers it for 24 hours, whose fault is it that it a distraction? Meanwhile, Congress passes two very important bills for Trump's agenda, the handling of violent illegal immigrants and legislation of sanctuary cities. All the Democrats have to do to stop Trump legislation is peal off 3 RINOS, a rather easy task with a media blitz, yet, instead of doing that, they covered his 3 to 5 seconds of tweeting, so distracting, but foolish? Seems rather effective to me.
You didn't find her description of the American Electorate as "deplorable" "irredeemable" embarrassing, so, I suspect we are embarrassed by different things.
When the guys that financially support and defend a Trump Assassination play, wet their panties over an obvious photo-shop, I mainly laugh.
You could have talked Jeb! into handcuffing himself while the Left pummels him with this line of argument, Trump, not so much. That is why the GOP electorate chose Trump over Jeb!
Trump doesn't control their programming choices. They are free-will human-beings, they own those choices.

Well it's Trump's. He's got to know by now and it's obvious that it's part of his way to make a mockery.

I thought it was a stupid thing to say. I'm no supporter of hers. The point is, though, if she posted a video of her wrestling as Trump did, and she were President, would you not consider that insane? Why does Trump get a pass?

"orange bloviating gasbag that is currently in the Oval Office" Wow, the orange description of President Trump is used a lot by his detractor on this forum did anyone refer to Obama as the mocha/mulatto bloviating gasbag that is currently in the Oval Office when he was President?

I'm sure people called Obama horrible names. It's not a competition. Nobody wins and it's not really about Obama or Hillary or anyone else from the past.

It's about Trump and his demeanor as President of the United States now.

    Nope. No change of heart.

This is like the upteenth thread on "why haven't Trump voters abandoned him yet" theme.

Summary: It was the Flight 93 election, no other Republican could have beaten Hillary, and he's been doing what I want him to do. He's not done everything I wanted him to do, but we're just 6 months in. He's flipped the script on immigration and turning the conversation on it and has started the process on dozens of things I'm in favor of.

My disappointment is with the GOP Congress and the Media. They've delivered an abortion of a health bill and seem to have totally wrecked the potential to pass anything decent. As for the media, they seem to have gone insane. I thought they, like their Democratic compatriots, would have recovered by now, but they continue to boggle my mind on a weekly basis with their insanity and stupidity. I get that they hate Trump and are out to get him, but they totally blew a weekend of complaining about the Senate failure with the health bill to go crazy about a couple of tweets.

Although I don't like the tweeting, I have to admit if you want to throw a distraction to the media to cover up real policy failures like the health bill, Trump knows just how to manipulate them. Unbelievable how stupid the media is. It's mindboggling.

So yes, I'll be voting Trump in 2020 too.
