Gaggle. When there are more than two gimps it becomes a gaggle.

A more simple explanation, is that the majority of Trump's voters are average, every day Americans! Democrats don't seem tot realize this or that the more they insult them, the more likely they are to get out and vote!

I don't think it's so much "when one is born", and staying within the parameters of the topic, I'd venture to say it's more of a cult thing ;)

I hope the Democrats run on the "cult" idea this fall.

Whatever the answer it, the same applies to Hillary supporters.

Cult: A misplaced or excessive admiration for a particular person or thing.
"a cult of personality surrounding the leaders"
synonyms: obsession with, fixation on, mania for, passion for, idolization of, devotion to, worship of, veneration of
"the cult of eternal youth in Hollywood"

    It is a cult.

Trump said it himself: He could shoot someone and no one could care. THAT is a cult. And it shows a fair amount of brainwashing to not see that in a moment.

This is truly like something out of The Twilight Zone. America is committing suicide.

I noticed yesterday a very subtle gesture made by Carl Bernstein. He clearly thinks there is a threat that trump is moving to overturn the Constitution and assume absolute power. Trump is a madman who is completely out of control. He is the most dangerous enemy the US has ever faced because he is the enemy within.

Neither. They have done poorly economically and socially the last 5 decades and want to change the system. That is not unusual in US history.

What is strange is what they complain about, the focus of income and influence in a small group of elites who have limited sympathy with them was largely driven by the Republican party not Democrats under the banner of globalization. But Republicans have been very good at getting them to ignore that reality.

Regrettably, you are mostly correct..The clinker is that America has become a tribal society with the two major tribes constantly at war with each other. We have become a nation divided. The closest examples are the Civil War and the Vietnam era. Both of these eras were times of irreconcilable differences and both ended in violence. I see little to indicate that this trend will not end similarly.

Upon reflection, my recent posts have done little to ameliorate the situation and quite possibly accomplished the opposite. I have drained my poison pen and it will not be refilled.

I don't see any who actually worship Trump. Many agree with much of his platform though and that is why they support him. But "worship"? No. So, decidedly not a "cult".

Haven't seen any school children singing songs about him either.

    Neither...

Clausewitz breaks down nationalism into three main components.

But I regress as the Progs still haven't figured out why Trump won.

A slight disagreement. Our national politics have become deadlocked for the reasons you mention, but the majority of society has not. We continue to move on, work, build houses and enjoy our lives. Who here isn't looking forward to the Fourth of July?

The noise on forums like this are not indicative of Americans as a whole; we're all either political junkies, nutjobs and/or shut-ins with nothing better to do. Most people have better things to do. If your lives are like mine, then only 1, at best, out of every 10 of your friends and relatives have even been on a political forum much less actively participate on them.

Our nation is fine. Not as good as it could be, because of the reasons you mention and an ineffective Congress, but still fine.

Sounds like you are describing "Black Lives Matters" or "Antifa".......not almost 50% of Americans.

When Trump supporters faint or cry in his presence only then can you talk about cultish behavior. When Republican Parents have classes of children singing creepy hymns to him, only then can you talk about cultish behavior. When artists SERIOUSLY create art depicting Trump as a Jesus figure or savior only then can you talk about cultish behavior.....
You peolle saw the marketing campaign for Obama right, with his face in a communist inspired style...?

    Ahem:

    https://www.ibtimes.co.uk/does-jesus-love-donald-trump-bizarre-vision-goes-viral-1602597
"My prayer is that Jesus Christ will guide Mr Donald J. Trump as President and that he teaches him about the Armor of God and what it means because he is going to need it," said Facebook user Viva President Trump, who appears to be the source of the image posted on 20 January.

The photoshopped image has been shared both earnestly and ironically and has vaulted to Internet meme status, with people weighing in about what the two could be writing. A compilation of posts featuring the bizarre portrait can be seen below.

Some have another take on the image: https://www.facebook.com/PalmerRepo...828.1066062726780925/1201858236534706/?type=3
Donald Trump's supporters have been passing this image around. They don't realize it's a picture of Jesus trying to stop Trump from repealing ObamaCare.

When it reaches the volume of OBama art, give us a call. Never seen that image. You’re talking fringe here. Obamas campaign poster was designed as a propaganda piece. But you can keep reaching if it makes you feel better.

I'm leaning toward mentally defective after they came up with that "IS TRUMP BEATING HIS WIFE?" thing.
