Yes, Turkey is a US ally but you're the one that want's Europeans to handle the problem. Where is the problem? Do you want THEM to fight Turkey? Turkey isn't fighting Syria, they're fighting the Kurds so who are they supposed to fight? The question is actually, what are YOU claiming?

The troops are not coming home they’re being reassigned but are currently trapped: they had no exit strategy for the troops or nukes housed in Turkey.

Exactly. This is one of those cases in which American military presence on the ground indeed stabilized a region.
Erdogan would never have invaded that area knowing there still was a significant number of US combat troops present.
Trump's idiotic decision gave Turkey the green light. Consequences are ethnic cleansing (appr. 100,000 are on the run, mostly civilians), imprisioned IS fighters escaping by the hundreds (has already happened) and reforming, further destabilization in an already extremely instable region.

One of the most important U.S military bases is in Turkey. Almost 4 million refugees Erdogan was/is prepared to send towards Europe if the USA/Europe do not play the ball. Get a grip.
