interesting the spin and what you want to believe

that's right, he hates the military. Is that you are really trying to imply???

Some would qualify, not all nor the majority. And, the leftist article wants us to assume that the motivation of the administration is purely evil in doing this

Just gonna note the irony of a guy who uses the guy fawkes icon attacking against a fairly reasonable interpretation of events in order to defend the political elite.

Setting aside that me calling it a "fairly reasonable interpretation of the events" is support of the article, you chose to respond to me noticing the apparent hypocrisy between an avatar for guy fawkes and defending the political elite by attacking me instead.

Part of managing a crisis is managing the cost. This is no different than pulling/replacing manpower before they go into overtime pay- a practice usually considered wise.

Whats needed to demonstrate/support this story's narrative is an explanation of how these duties warranted the increased cost of the benefits that were about to kick in. Without such an explanation, this is just a hit piece trying to twist the Trump Administration's attempts to be responsible with its resources into 'abuse of the military'...

To quote the fictional 'Richard Nixon's Head' from Futurama- "This had better work! We can't spend all of Earths money every day, you know!"

No mind reading is required to label trump a chicken **** and Cadet bone spurs for pulling national guard members one day before they were set to earn additional payments for their service.

The government has planted money tree plantations, but there won't be any money picking now for the next thirty years after the pandemic.

Saying that someone has no regard calls for the operation of the mind. Name calling is for those that admire Trump to the point of emulating him. I support sending these brave Americans home to tend to their families. Keeping them longer than is needed is irresponsible.

Most have insurance through their permanent employer. The Guard is intended to be back up and used for a limited time. It is a strain on their employers and family to have them activated that long.

Nobody joins the Guard hoping to get activated to get benefits. Nobody.

Yet millions of Americans are losing their jobs and health.

Its a joke that Republicans suddenly get SO get concerned about the families being alone so much those troops could not spend ONE MORE DAY longer, even though have used those troops to clean weeds along the Mexican border.

So now many of these troops are sent home to no health care and no income after months under Trump and the Republicans.

Unbelievable. There is no scummy thing Trump and tge Republicans won't do to screw our troops.

How are we to take an OP seriously when it starts like this? Somehow I doubt this guy served in anything but a cafeteria.

And? Again, that isn't why people join the Guard, so that is a non-issue.

    Republican bad. blah blah blah.

As it would be against the law for any employers to terminate the employee or their benefits due to being called up to the Guard duty... slim to none.

    Fiddler. Did you ever serve?

If not, then get off your pedestal like you give a **** more than anything else than pushing your partisan extremism.

I did 8 years. In the guard, and this faux outrage for political fodder is stupid.

There is a reason most military vote republican. Let's stop pretending that progressive liberal extremists best represent the desires of our service people.

This is about TDS. Nothing more nothing less and its as faux as it comes.

The Guard I have known were not joining to get health insurance. But they were given the option of all the benefits it provided. Of cource, the Guard were usually expecting some short stints for perticular problems. These multi month connections was not why many were looking over either.

Yes, Republican bad. Glad you agree. More and more of the military are agreeing.

True enough. Normally. But now the country (and the world) are dealing with a whole new paradigm. One problem that occured in the last 2 months is that companies are shutting down, temporarily and more and more permanently, or large sections being closed. These Guard members are losing their jobs and benefits wholesale! Sorry, the statement that their chance of losing those benefits are "slim to none" is ridiculous.

Waiting to the very last day to through them out to avoid benefits is a policy worthy of Republicans and Trump. Love our troops and screw-em, eh?

    No I didn't serve

So, in your view, that means I am on a "pedestal" and because of that "my partisan extremism" and I want to allow Guardsmen the opportunity to get benefits in the middle of the worst health crisis in a hundred years. I guess my "pedestal" because to want Guard families to have health insurance is a Commie Chinese Plot by liberals!

I, and most Democrats, have maintained that Guard and the military have maintained people should have insurance and benefits. The only thing that is "stupid" is the Republican and Trump trying anything and every excuse to screw health care. Since 911, the never-ending effort to end healthcare for the the 911 health workers, troops from Vietnam Agent Orange and so much more is the Republican signature.

It's odd that the military is treated so poorly by Republicans according to you... yet:

Military members know who takes care of them.
