The former shlock-tv entertainer was far more entertaining than actual Republican political stiffs in 2016, and was lavished with free hype provided by legitimate media outlets - as well as ideological radio and tv personalities - to win the nomination.
The multiple casino bankrupt had all the viewer appeal of a water-skiing squirrel!

His fawning sycophants now find the stench repulsive, and are dumping him as if he were just another Trump bimbo beyond her prime.

Even reliable Trump bum kissers Laura Ingraham and Alex Jones are scrambling onto the Ann Coulter Express, sniffing the past-expiration bouquet and repulsed by it.

The New York Post wrote that Trump's actions on January 6 were a matter of "eternal shame," while The Wall Street Journal said that Trump had "utterly failed" the test on January 6, which former Vice President Mike Pence had passed.

[T]he Washington Examiner, a prominent conservative outlet... declared Trump
"unfit for power" in an editorial on June 29.

"Trump is a disgrace. Republicans have far better options to lead the party in 2024. No one should think otherwise, much less support him, ever again," the editorial said.

If they abandon Trump, they'll just flock to Trump's Florida copycat, their new faux populist, authoritarian hero.

Past expiration? I think you mean the stench of a traitor who is going down.

They didn't mind supporting a traitor as long as they thought he would win.

    They're very upset.

The same Trump goons who savaged outnumbered police defending democracy at the Capitol are very, very pissy, and still targeting law enforcement:

A Florida Republican candidate for the House was suspended from Twitter in the final days of his campaign after advocating for Floridians to shoot federal agents on sight, Florida Politics reports.

Luis Miguel, who is running against incumbent Rep. Bobby Payne, was suspended after he tweeted, “Under my plan, all Floridians will be able to shoot FBI, IRS, ATF, and all other federal troops on sight. Let freedom ring.”

    Wow.

Now why is it that I don't want red states to be a part of my country anymore. Oh yes... That was it.

The problem with these toadies is that they will go to wherever the money is, and they will backflip to Trump once the 2022 election cycle is done. Don't fall for the con, it's just about the midterms until proven otherwise. This midterm election is crucial for women's bodily autonomy and democracy. Basically,it's only about freedom and the next real chance to save it for everyone.

A populist government is necessary in light of the failure of the Democratic and Republican systems. How much longer are the people expected to bare(16% approval rate of Congress) a legislative body that cannot act upon their wishes? Or politicians who cite so called nativism, while at the same breath calling themselves patriotic?

I believe earnestly in the creation of an American Empire to unite all Americans in a political spirit, ending the racial and class wars and creating One Whole State. If not in this lifetime, then certainly the next.

And you are celebrating? I think Trump is the only candidate the dems could beat in 2024.

The so called people could overturn 100% of the house and 33% of the senate, every two years. The people love the system or they’d vote the losers out.

People mostly approve of their own member of congress, but disapprove of congress as a whole.

That tells me that the problem is with the people. We don't have any idea how anything works.

Yeah. It's like a virus. We really need to round up all the Trump supporters and get rid of them once and for all. We can never be a free nation as long as people believe it's OK to disagree with us. The only way to preserve liberty is through a final solution. Right?

A fine example of the "Every Republican accusation is a confession" rule.

Try not to be so gleeful about your fantasies in the future. That gives it away.

Depends on which Empire you cite. Of course, several of whom expanded outside with warfare. But democracies have engaged in warfare, as have tribal warlords and even in anarchy societies, it's more than just war it's winner take all. The idea that an Empire/Autocrat automatically means war, is an excuse by democracies to make themselves sound as a better option.

Particularly as it would pertain to an American Empire, the American Populace is not necessarily gung-ho for warfare, nor are we in need of additional territory or land per se. If we wanted to launch a 'war for oil', we could look northward to Canada, but the trade pact should probably be sufficient for supply from our northern neighbor.

There is the undeniable interest in the push towards Latin America and its various island territories(ie: Mexico.) resolving the immigration problem by absorbing Mexico within a Greater America. But while all of that would make geographical sense, like I said: I personally am not encouraged by my fellow brethren of citizens that we're really willing to do what it takes.

My greater idea still, is to invite Hong Kong to become a proper US State, and it would give us a foothold into Asia. Yes, China would undoubtedly be pissed but the financial implications and what America could achieve would be massive. But through these various geopolitical contingencies, to me a Financial Empire is first necessary as well as a prolonged peace time before we settle foreign policy questions that affect our security. Said prolonged peace would also allow Mexico and China to continue to become more cooperative and therefore it becomes even less necessary to view those options.

Republicans do have far better options than Trump in 2024. But Trump is the better choice to anyone on the Democratic side.

I would totally support a Cheney run. I don’t agree with many of her policies, but that’s always true, no matter who runs. Anyone sane is now my criteria. She meets that criteria.

So who are the democrats going to run? Bernie Sanders seems to be the leading candidate to carry the Biden legacy of fuel starvation and no more cars leading to a future where we all work at home making things out of wood.

TDS manifests itself in the form of goon attacks on Congress and death threats directed at public servants doing their jobs.
It is based upon mindlessly sharing a Loser's delusions.

Because Congress, both teams, collaborate on wedge issues to keep us divided.

Seven out of ten threads in this place are about fringe issues that most people don’t fear, because only the fringe care enough to get all riled up over nothing.
