They can't ignore a special prosecutor or a grand jury. And there are surely enough Republicans with a conscience left to vote along with Democrats when it is clear that Trump broke the law; if not committed treason.

Trump broke the 40% barrier and came in with 38% support. I think that's the first time he's dropped below 40% since he first started his campaign.

When Sean Spicer is explicitly asked about that "fake document" and gives a response?

Yes. What a terribly weak argument.

Yes they would. And probably cite another unsourced "report" to prove it.

He called Comey a nutjob Should have called him a media whore. His failure to say in public what he said in private, that Trump wasn't under investigation, didn't help him. And his failure to investigate leaks was hard to ignore. He was Obama's lapdog and the critique of his performance by Deputy AG Rosenstein was spot on. Anyone reading that should have fired the guy. Another Obama appointee who politicized his office.

I will be just as soon as I see a sourced report. Without a reputable source, its just tabloid material.

And why should they? Must they respond to every single fake news story? Come back when you get sources on the record.

How? How do you prove a fake unverified claim of a conversation?

If I said you claimed to like underage children and did it anonymously, how could you prove me false? I know I'm asking you to think here but try.

This was officially documented in the oval office. At what point do you accept evidence?

If the story is false it can be proven false. So no problem there - the written account of this is in the official accounting of the meeting, or it isn't. If the story is true, Trump was officially documented saying this.

You don't have to prove it, you just deny the characterization. When you echo the very basic gist of the report instead of denying the quote, then you are confirming the story.

So you admit, the content of the report is more important than the quality of the source of the content.

What? Well now I'm back to thinking you aren't an attorney.

We, individually and collectively as "the people" have the absolute right to address and question our accusers. It's a base understanding of human nature, people will fabricate things towards their personal and political interest anonymously that they won't in full disclosure.

Stand up and say it or you are a coward!

We don't judge people on the anonymous voice of cowards in this country.

Whisper campaigns are started by cowards and propagated by cowards.

    Cheers

Some day I'm going to go back to some dem comments and apply this same standard. We will see how many of those going after Trump, defend the dems.

Look, Russia is trying to subvert our system, and Trump is playing right into their hands. I don't think he's doing it on purpose, but rather out of extreme naivete'.

This is not a courtroom. Stop trying to analogize the situation. Anonymous sources have a very long and storied history when it comes to journalism.

Get over the Russian stuff. It's become the standard response to everything politics. It's become way too much of a cliché.

I am predicting that there will soon be an assertive push back from republicans and from all other Americans to all hostile media statements. Fake or not. Media has become a threat to national security and needs to be held responsible for unsubstantiated articles published only as a means to continue dividing the country.

I personally do not condone name calling by any president, his cabinet, advisors or from anyone in congress. I believe he needs to apologize to Comey and to all Americans for that very stupid statement. Comey is not a nut job. My two cents.

I have welcomed the appointment of Special Counsel. It is a positive step in the right direction.

I would also encourage the president to seek a tutor and vocabulary coach. He has a hard time articulating his thoughts. It is not so much what he says, it's his delivery.

Both sides of congress needs to get it's act together too. Compromise with honor is better than not getting anything done at all.
