I agree with your assessment. One party rule seems to foster a deviation from equilibrium that only drives the inevitable reactionary pendulum swing as belated and exaggerated compensation.

Our main quibble may revolve around the significance of the relative loathing for Trump and Clinton as personalities. I view 2016 as a case of the ultimate establishment character vs the ultimate anti-establishment character. Trump's successful vicious ad hominem attacks upon stable, qualified, experienced Republicans in the GOP primary process presaged that repugnant shtick selling sufficiently in the general - despite the American electorate preferring the establishment politician by 2.9 million votes. (Clinton would never have cited a fake news confection that Bernie Sander's dad killed JFK, and would have been roundly condemned as an unprincipled lowlife if she had, and rightly so.)

    It's a self-perpetuating, self-inflicted Pit and the Pendulum ordeal!

Quite right. I would say most Americans are somewhere in-between where the two major parties stand ideological these days. It makes me yearn back to the days of IKE when basically the conservative ideals of the republicans was, "We believe in the same things as the democrats, only a little bit less." If one looks at Nixon once he became president, he would be labeled a flaming liberal by today's standards. Opening the door to Red China, the EPA, OSHA, the Endangered Species Act, the imposition of wage and price controls. He believed in Affirmative Action and funds for education. Yet today, we still call him a conservative. No other president since Nixon has moved this country that far left. Not Carter, no Bill Clinton and not Obama.

But with the Pit and Pendulum ordeal in full bloom, where does that leave us, the voter? Outside of electing Republicans one cycle, then Democrats the next, there is little to be done. realistically anyway. One can dream about a viable more moderate, in the center political party. But that isn't about to happen. Not in our two party system where Republicans and Democrats control it. They write our election laws and do so as a mutual protection act. That one thing they both agree on, that no viable third party will ever arise.

One can also dream about one party or the other moving towards the center where most Americans are. That would make whichever party dominate for the next 40-50 years in my opinion. At least until the other party see they must adjust also. Dream worlds and fantasy lands.

Nice contradiction, stop hate, women against Trump.

They want to stop hate, but hate Trump.

    Truly a bag of nuts.

Why do you tell yourself they "hate" Trump? Do you actually believe it is necessary to hate a politician to oppose him?

In any event, it is good to see Trump energizing women politically. It's long overdue.

In the wake of sexual-assault allegations against the Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, a Morning Consult/Politico poll found that President Trump’s net support among Republican women had dropped by 19 points.

A USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times poll released on September 26 counted a 28-point advantage for the Democrats among all women.

The P-Grabber spewing his degenerate pissiness to pleasure his worshipful RINOs of Trumpery is not helping the GOP.

It's amusing that the ideological media entertainers now have their parrots squawking "MOB!" to describe better-educated, suburban women.

Wow, did you break anything to twist your propaganda to fit your effort here?

    Need a paramedic?

""MOB!" to describe better-educated, suburban women."
Hint: When you make stuff up, when you invent stories, have them at least appear to be believable. They would have a much better chance of getting somewhere outside the corral.

Yes, the recently-issued pejorative "mob!" to demonize most folks - including better-educated suburban women - who disapprove of the realty tv performer's tawdry performance in general, and his and the GOP Congress's failed attempt to take health insurance away from tens of millions of Americans in particular, is amusing.

I give credit to Obama all the time. He's the one who expanded the drone program and never got rid of the Patriot Act! He just loves humanity.

I am happy that he did that because it saves American lives. I couldn't believe that he was considering canceling the Patriot Act.
He has taken credit for his part in our economic recovery, and rightfully so. You giving him credit for that also, yes?

Curious how those who supported the BLOTUS as an "outsider" who could "shake things up" in Washington DC are now OPPOSED to all of these hundreds of OUTSIDERS who CAN and WILL actually shake things up in Washington DC because they are NOT self obsessed egomaniacs.

First I hear of anyone relating Obama to either Bush and I was fan of the senior George Bush. I was not a fan of the second Bush.

Ask anyone in the middle east. Ghadaffi, Egypt, Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria...which was better. Obama or Bush. Oh wait! Ask Pakistan first! Please ask Pakistan!! They loved Obama so much they asked him to stop the drone program in their whole country and he refused! Killing many civilians.

I think Obama has a trophy there.

I don't know what your point is. If he refused to stop the drones, it was at the bequest of his generals who gave him advice on the matter.

I don't the race of the man is of no interest if the person running has a penis is all that matters and their politics. I only vote for a woman if and only if there is no man available on the ballot.

Your affinity for penises aside, female Americans exercising their franchise and representing the People in political office in numbers that are more representative is an auspicious prospect for democracy.

A women-only electorate would give Democrats a huge House majority: The adjusted vote share estimates suggest that women would elect 275 Democrats to just 160 Republicans, which is 44 more Democratic seats than the 231 projected Wednesday in the Lite version of our forecast. To put that in perspective, the last time either party won more than 270 seats was in 1978, when the Democrats won 278. But that was a less polarized era, and Democrats held a number of institutional and partisan advantages in the House. Since 1994 — sometimes seen as the starting point of our current political era — the Democrats’ 257-seat result in 2008 stands as the best mark for either party.

Besides mobilizing women, Lyin' Don is inspiring Latino Americans to vote next Tuesday.

Not just women, but Latinos, and younger Americans appear to be especially motivated to participate in the democratic process on Tuesday.

Proportional representation at the polls can only accrue to the benefit of the nation.

Enfranchising more Americans, especially demographic sectors that have been woefully underrepresented in the past, provides hope for the future.

Of course, the involvement of previously unrepresented segments of American society in politics must be sustained. 2018 is only the start of progress.

The vulgar P-Grabbing skank who ruts behind the backs of trophy wives and pays off his enablers has transformed American politics, and the far greater expression of participatory democracy that he has inspired is now underway.

It is actually his repugnant, morally-depraved policies such as having his government bureaucrats snatch children away from families that is motivating women to safeguard American family values.
