It is my understanding that is the biggest hurdle. It's been said that he won't listen to ANYBODY except Ivanka and she might not be able to convince him. The only advantage to her is he won't fire her for suggesting such a thing where he would just anybody else.

Dealing with the final stages of Mistakenly-Electing a Mentally-Unstable (Pathologically-Disturbed) Megalomaniac.

An Amateur completely unworthy of the Office, who has no respect for decorum.

Everybody saw this coming (Trump's refusal to go quietly) the minute that America made the biggest mistake in Electoral History by facilitating the Election of this Clueless, Thoroughly Unprepared IMBECILE. :smh:

Yeah, yeah, but his strategy is to sow confusion, delay, appeal, try to prevent certification, so that Congress would have to intervene, and the Constitution establishes that the Senate votes for the veep, one vote for each senator (Mike Pence would be elected) and the House votes for the POTUS (1 vote per State Delegation - the Republicans control 26, Trump would be elected). I think he probably won't succeed but it is not impossible. And it is not even unconstitutional.

While by now I'm 100% against Trump, I think this piece of news is a bit exaggerated. What I read is that Trump ASKED his military officials about what possibilities we had of attacking Iran's main nuclear installation. The generals then responded to him that it would be pretty much impossible to do it without widening the conflict and without it resulting in full blown war, and Trump then dropped the idea.

I don't think it is that sinister. Trump probably does think that with Biden in control, Iran will be closer to making nuclear bombs, and he thought about what he could do to stop it before leaving office. Trump has not been a bellicose president, so if he is concerned about a nuclear Iran and trying to still do something about it, and if he is listening to the generals who say that it can't be done, then I have little against his asking the question.

While I don't put much past Trump, I don't think he'd employ a scorched earth strategy to this degree. This time, maybe he was actually concerned. He doesn't want a North Korea #2.

Although, I don't know. In other occasions when I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, he disappointed me.

    That WON'T happen.

That falls into the category of "anything is possible".

For example, it is "possible" that the world could end before I hit "post reply" on this message.

If you are reading this, then it didn't happen.

    BUT, it was "possible".

Trump's chances of remaining in Office (past Jan. 20th) are even Less of a "possibility"

You just had to go and spoil all the fun didn't you? The thread was clunking along in fine echo chamber fashion with the TDS hens clucking away with the delusional pontificated fiction of an unhinged lame duck President out to start WW3 and here you come with your logic and your sanity and just ruin the entire party.

But mockery aside I think progressives are determined to see an Iranian bomb.

Some parades are just begging to get dumped on.

But in all fairness, I think if I was Iran I would be looking to be competitive in the nuclear arena. Before the Bush wars, the countries that were nonparticipatory in the global central banking system were Iraq, Libya, Syria, Iran and NK. Recently Russia has got itself on that list.

Given the fate since then of non-nuclear Iraq, Libya and Syria and the lack of that same fate being delivered unto nuclear Russia and NK, a not-so-subtle pattern emerges that you can bet Iran has noticed.

And that pattern is- if you are financially independent but don't have nukes, the west will destroy you.

I like to think of it as if you're financially unstable but have nukes the west will prop you up. Iran knows its in a slow-motion free fall into complete and total financial collapse. They also know that the west will do anything to prevent the classic 'broke rogue state sells nukes to terrorists' model from playing out - ironically of course as Iran is itself a terror nation. PE Biden will absolutely be directed by progressives to restore or recreate the JCPOA in order to justify loosening the sanctions we have on them and media will sell us on the concept that doing this will slow or stop their nuclear program which of course it wont. Iran will have its bomb and we will pay for it one way or another.

You can thank trump for Iran having more uranium than allowed under the treaty. He is the one who withdrew. Up until that time, Iran was complying with the limits.
If Iran is closer to building a bomb today than they were 4 years ago, that is 100% on trump.

In no way shape or form is that true. With their capabilities they simply couldn't have gone from roughly 400 pounds to over 5400 pounds of enriched uranium in the time since Pres Trump left the JCPOA. They had to of been enriching all along which is why they were perfectly ok with going public and blaming the US rather than staying in the deal with the 5 other signatory nations + the European Union.

Your disbelief is not evidence. Trump’s administration confzthey were complying right up until he withdrew.

The current situation is 100% on him.

Yea you're right I mean its makes perfect sense; just blame Trump! Forget the fact that Iran's economy has been collapsing, forget that fact that enriching uranium is extremely costly for them, forget the fact that the facilities to enrich take time to build/update and bring online, forget the fact that the materials for enrichment are quite specific and their commerce easily traceable, forget the fact that the JCPOA was written in such a way to allow Iran to sustain and advance its enrichment activities, and forget the fact that the Israelis had on the ground intelligence showing they were doing exactly that. Just blame Trump, its so much easier and trendy!

Why do you have to lie in the thread title?

Asking military advisors whether we should attack is not the same as anti g to attack

I am sure North Korea got nuclear weapons because of Trump too.

Quaddaffi was developing nuclear weapons until Bill Clinton convinced him to stop with promises of safety in the 90s. The world saw the value of American promises when Hillary cackled over his grave "we came, we saw, he died".

None of which changes the fact that trump’s own administration certified that Iran was in compliance with the deal at the time trump withdrew - and that Iran then started increasing production.

While I personally think Trump's initial instinct to wipe out Iran's nuclear stockpiles was the correct one, this hysteria and temper tantrums over the temerity of the Commander-in-Chief to discuss military options against a rogue regime with his generals and eventually decide against them.. well, this hysteria and temper tantrums from the usual suspects are nothing new really LOL

PS Biden if he wins, will be apologizing for America anyway a la Obama, he'd just have one more thing to apologize for, but Iran would not have nukes :D

    ?

Why should an attack on Iran be necessary? No reason whatsoever. Iran won't attack Israel for they know it would mean their own annihilation and total war in the Middle East.

Iran doesn't seek to be obliterated, nor does anyone else in the area.

I do, however, agree that Trump is a coward. And a psychopath.

Leftists are begging for this so they can say told ya so. They want a war so badly so they can point fingers and have something to bitch about. They certainly are going to have a major problem the next 4yrs when they might have to, GASP, be journalists. Don’t think they understand how to tell the truth anymore. Lying about how amazing Biden is doing just isn’t going to get any clicks. They need Trump for insane breaking stories and fake drama.

    Infeel so sorry for them:)

Trump tore up the nuclear pact with Iran against the advice of all US allies, even Israel.

The only reason he did it was because it was a success for Obama.

U.S. companies were even about to invest in Iran because there was a lot of business opportunity.

Like everything else (pandemic, economic crisis, social crisis, government dysfunction) Biden will have to pick up the mess that an Republican left behind.
