I am curious how they will decide who gets the money. I am also curious how many will refuse needed funds out of hatred for Trump.

Trump has put us into a trillion dollar deficit and is already on track to increase the deficit by 10-15 trillion dollars. We are also going to face revenue shortfalls because people aren't working, and this will increase the deficit even more. We are in big big trouble.

This is really an idiotic plan, but I expect it to be popular.

Trump has been smacked with some bad press lately that's not fake news. This will be his opportunity to win back his base again.

it helps the American people, so yeah, it will be more popular than a trillion dollar plan to help the rich

course Trump has to get Republicans in the Senate on board, can Trump do it, we will see

Not everyone needs it. It's silly to just throw a grand at someone because they are an adult. Increase assistance to the needy, by all means, but just sending out cash like that is a terrible idea.

I'd take the money if it has been Obama and still not vote for him. I don't think there'd be anything wrong with Trump haters taking it.

Get anything back from the govt that you can, imo.

Can you imagine the praise if it was Obama giving $1000 to every adult US citizen even the homeless people camping on San Francisco sidewalks? There would be dancing in the streets but since it's Trump proposing it it has to be bad.

    Bad Trump! Bad, bad Trump!

I'm a member of his base and disagree with this one size fits all gesture. It appears hes bending over backwards to appease the left and I don't approve. Fortunately I follow him on FB and can tell him what I think. So can a bunch of other supporters. Most accessible President ever. :) #TRUMP2020

    For anyone's info....

UK's Covid economic aid package amounts to $39 billion, per capita; $590
Canada's Covid economic aid package amounts to $30 billion, per capita; $833

Thus, is Romney's $1,000 cash payment to a majority of Americans excessive?

    No.

In fact, I think we might need $3,000 per person.

And, a $4 Trillion total package to bail out the economy.

Mnuchin is (already) predicting 20% Unemployment. (If no action taken).

    Let's assume a 10% unemployment rate.....still a serious/alarming problem.

Just think of it as an "economic stimulas" package and it will suddenly be lauded by the left (not likely).

I am not a big fan of this. I can see helping people out that need cash but to just give everyone money is not something that I can buy into.

I can also see a lot of overdoses on the horizon.
