No. The solution is much simpler; make Voter ID the law of the land. Require anyone who wants to work, rent or buy a house show their "voter ID". Any employers caught with employees who don't have voter ID go to jail for six months. Illegal will self-deport, your and my taxes stay the same, our military continues to do the job it's supposed to do and Trump isn't breaking Federal law...again.

How many months do you think military personnel returning from overseas deployments should be, again, taken from their families for border patrol then rotated with other units? What is the cost to do this? What will be the impact on recruiting and retention?

while President Trump could order active duty military personnel or federalized National Guard troops to assist with border security operations, they would not be allowed to carry out law enforcement duties like detaining migrants crossing the border illegally.

That's because the Posse Comitatus Act prohibits the U.S. military from conducting law enforcement duties in the United States. The only way that can be allowed is by a special congressional authorization

Even though the President said he wants to involve the military with guarding the US southern border, some lawmakers in Congress are arguing it shouldn't be part of their job description.

Rep. Francis Rooney, a Florida Republican, told CNN Tuesday he doesn't feel comfortable with military on the border.
"I don't really feel comfortable with deploying military troops and creating the possibility for an increase in violence and an escalation of the conflict," he told CNN's Wolf Blitzer. "These people should be stopped at the border and vetted out, just the normal process, and we should have plenty of agents down there to do that."

For the reasons listed. Way to many US businesses depend on illegal labor. When they cracked down in Georgia, wholesale crops were left rotting because they couldn't even get prisoners on work-release programs to show up after a day.

I thought the goal was to expel illegal immigrants?

This is another distraction effort, anyone here that actually thinks this will happen is playing right into the media distraction that you all condemn the media for constantly. So congrats on being sheep.

BTW I love how we must have the ability to fight a tyrannical government but in the same breathe trumpers want military armed and at the border lol.

I appreciate your honesty. If President Eisenhower could use the United States 101st Airborne Division against American citizens in Arkansas, there is no logical or legal reason I can think of why President Donald Trump cannot use the U. S. Armed Forces to protect the borders of the United States from the threat of illegal invaders.

And using essentially the very same legal reasoning that Eisenhower used in 1957, President Trump should send the U. S. military into all these "sanctuary cities", and the "sanctuary state" of California. He should have the Governor, and all other California State officials, including mayors, arrested and charged with crimes against the United States.

Oh, I can hear the liberals' gnashing their teeth -- BUT -- remember that it was your great central-government demi-god, Abraham Lincoln who took the 10th Amendment to the Constitution and crushed it in the dirt. Centralized, federalized government is supreme over all -- period.

The goal is to control immigration and know who we allow into the country.

Everify will only work against the less criminal element. It won't do anything about the heroin rings, gang members, multiple deportees and the criminal element that comes here to do more unsavory things.

Those people aren't looking for jobs that everify will catch.

I'm confused now. Are you saying you don't want to get rid of the law-abiding illegals, and only focus on the law breaking ones?

We can't control illegal immigration with consequential US adverse economic impact without simultaneously enacting immigration reform. Since no one wants to talk about immigration reform, I fail to believe anyone is serious about stopping illegal immigration.

I am no fan of what Lincoln did to our states. The smell of his actions lingers today and has created the enormous problem with blacks. But Trump will easily deploy military to prevent more intrusions by illegal aliens. This is the purpose of the troops.

You're correct. The Border Patrol is a Federal Agency overseen by the Dept. of Homeland Security. Therefore 'Posse Comitatus" does not override the Exec Order to send troops to assist the border Patrol.

Let me know when the military shows up on the Mexico boarder lol.

Trumpers buy every word that comes out of Don the Grifters mouth. It's amazing.

Military people will be deployed as the government sees the need. They signed up for it and they live their lives around it.

Well they're all technically law breaking.

I'm saying that the worst problem is the gang members, drug dealers, Mexican fugitives and cartel operations that are enabled by illegal immigration. That is and always should be the highest priority.

Mexicans sneaking over to work at 7-11 who don't have criminal records should be the lowest priority.

Whuh huh?? How does having the military secure our borders and maintain our national sovereignty (which is kinda the whole point of having a military) equate to tyranny against Americans??

Don't expect people to know American history and you won't be disappointed. There's no reason why the illegal aliens couldn't be captured and placed in concentration camps until their governments agree to take them back.

I wonder if the fool in the White House bothered to tell anyone in the DoD before he ran his mouth.

Yeah, some people with beach front property would be whining about the military setting up gun emplacements on their lawns to repel the invading enemy. And some stupid judge would grant the whiners an injunction.

What - sending the military to help out on the southern border? Like GW Bush and Obama did?

Don't you mean, "Good, another president with balls, just like the last two."

You still didn't answer Cubed's question.

So you are OK with the lab abiding illegals who are here to work stay?

    Really? Do you really wonder?

Cause I'm pretty sure we both know that the answer is that he didn't even bother to think before he spoke, let alone consulted with anyone else.

Every time Trump cracks down on the border his approval numbers go up - 50 % yesterday - 51% today.

That goes both ways. California feeds half of this nation. But, leave to conservatives to throw the baby out with the bath water. SMH...

I did answer his question, and if he's unclear on something, I'm sure he is quite capable of asking me to clarify.

No, I'm not ok with illegal immigration in any form. I'm fine with legal immigrants who are needed, vetted, and issued visas to work in the country.
