    This goes back to the heart of his narcissism - he know his re-election depends on a strong economy and he is willing to trade lives to get there

    Just like how Democrats celebrate the crashing of the economy because they think it will bring them victory in 2020, they also block relief to make the pain hurt as much as possible.

    This is no different than when Democrats hid hurricane relief from hurricane victims to blame trump and write stories about how trump hates brown people.

    The quarantine and social distancing is to slow the spread, was never to stop it. We can begin re-opening the economy in a couple weeks while continuing to practice certain measures and protecting the sick and elderly. How long did you think the country could possibly stay shutdown?

    The number of COVID cases in the US is doubling about every 3 days.

    If you want to go ahead and get sick, officials aren't going to stop you.

    However, you might want to first check to see if your area hospital has room for you.

    My days are as normal as ever, I am essential. People that are deemed non-essential will not comply after a certain amount of time.

    I am 71 and am in the most at risk demographic. I am completely in favor of eliminating the national shutdown after a maximum of 30 days. Extending the economic shutdown any longer than that risks an economic depression IMO. I want our kids and grandkids to enjoy the benefits of living in a functioning US capitalism based economy. Trump states it correctly - ‘we can’t let the cure be more damaging than the virus’.

    I suspect the vast majority of senior citizens agree with this.

    Why do you want an economic depression which will harm our kids and grandkids ??? The vast majority of senior citizens would not want that.

    Personally, I would rather avoid repeating the situation in Italy where Doctors are being told to tell everyone over the age of 60 "Go home and good luck."

    I think your kids and grandkids would agree.

    Democrats aren't blocking relief for we the people, they are blocking cate blanche "welfare" for corporations with no oversight built into the deal.

    When asked about that, Trump replied that he would do the oversight himself. :roflol:

    He had no answer when asked about rumors that his own resorts would be getting some of that "relief." :disbelief:

    If you told Italians that they should ignore medical advice, do you think that's what they would do?

    Today, our COVID case numbers are doubliing every 3 days - just like in Italy during its fastest rate of growth.

    Our hospitals can not keep up with an exponential growth rate.

    All Democrats care about is trump and how they can use this crisis to hurt him.

    If Democrats cared about America they would pass a bill and if it wasn't enough pass another.

    Democrats are trying to make this crisis hurt as much as possible.

    Do you think it will be done in a month, two, six? How long can people go without working, how long can the economy stay shutdown before a full collapse? This stay home rule was never meant to stop the spread, just slow it down.
