I always wear mine to cover both but I get soo much resistance with whiny complaints that the mask is too hot, or they have trouble breathing etc. I may be wrong but I'd rather folks wear it improperly to not wear it at all, because the larger droplets of saliva when you speak have a greater viral load than what you give off through exhaling through your nose and its just sitting there, waiting to be put up higher if you feel a sneeze or cough coming on With some people you just can't get them to do more.
I think your missing the point entirely, mandating masks for all makes no sense. face it some areas of the country haven't had this problem because they can easily social distance, they're not stacked on top of each other like sardines and haven't had the outbreak major cities have. If your going to be around people where you can't social distance, yes where a damn mask. As for the President that gets tested daily, it really makes no sense to where a mask but yet another BS political attack.

well this has nothing to do with rural or urban. Its about the space you stand in while trying to get your groceries, or the space between the people in the pews of church, or the distance we have between us to have a simple conversation. Yes applying common sense to this, as you have, would be absolute perfection - except people won't. Heck they get all outraged when they get called out for wandering in stores in groups of two, three or five filling the aisles, all unmasked so that is isn't even safe for the store personnel to encourage them to put one on. Then you have a scenario where the rest of us are doing the work needed to keep this virus in check while they keep on passing the damn thing and forcing more closures more unpaid hospital bills, and putting the health care front liners in nursing homes, assisted living centers etc at more risk of bringing this into their places of business. We have tried volunteerism for the last few months and its just causing businesses to be stuck in the middle trying to please two sets of customers. and failing. Let government take the blame and get those jerks to put on masks in public accommodation areas, or get them out! If more people did what you suggested, we would not need this heavy handed approach just to reopen up and get the economy moving.
