Seems like reality to some Conservatives is just a word in the dictionary.

Soon, according to McConnell. He has spoken with Pelosi, and has informed Senators that the Senate trial part of the process could begin as soon as Thanksgiving.

It's too late, IMO. The GOP lost all hint of personal honor during the first few months of Trump's administration. I'll never vote for another Republican for any office.

I'm betting he will be impeached by the House, but not removed by the Senate.

I don't think so. I could be wrong, but even if the Senate does not convict and remove him from office, the impeachment itself will be too big of a stain on his presidency. Most Americans disapproved of Trump already, and now about 53% favor not only impeachment but removal as well, and that's from a Fox News poll.

Trump is toast one way or the other. Get the butter out.

His supporters most certainly will. Look through almost any thread on this forum. They're scraping the bottom of the barrel in their extreme and often nonsensical efforts to excuse Trump, no matter what he says or does. Obfuscation, whataboutisms, and tin foil hat conspiracy theories abound. It's very much like a cult.

Agreed. Impeachment should have started when the Mueller Report came out, but because so few of us bothered to read it, and many of those who did failed to comprehend Mueler's reason's for not indicting or even stating Trump's guilt, Pelosi decided to sublimate constitutional duty for the sake of political expediency. I hate it when our representatives are more concerned about keeping their jobs than doing their jobs.

Trump is well aware, even if his supporters are not, that the statute of limitations on the several obstruction charges clearly laid out in Mueller's report is five years, which means that unless he can get reelected, hand cuffs and an orange jump suit are likely to be waiting for him as soon as he leaves office. Delay was his only tactic, but he has completely screwed the pooch, first with the Ukraine fiasco, and now the Kurds and Turkey.

It is entertaining in a train wreck sort of a way.

    Except for the facts:

The White House holds a lot of cards in this game.

    The Basics

The power of Congress to investigate and obtain information is very broad. While there is no express provision in the Constitution that addresses the investigative power, the Supreme Court has firmly established that such power is essential to the legislative function as to be implied from the general vesting of legislative powers in Congress.

    https://www.lawfareblog.com/congres...ve-privilege-coming-showdown-between-branches

So, the White House can assert privilege, as they have in the case of Trump's tax returns, and also by claiming the returns serve no legislative value and, therefore, Mullah Nadler has no right to them.

Speaking of Mullah Nadler. How's his health these days? We know that seething with slobbering hatred kills. Cummings was busy crafting subpoena's when he bought the farm.

Not sure. Pelosi owes her majority to 40 Democrats who won in Trump majority districts. I don't think she wants them exposed.

You just PROVED yourself to be WRONG!

Investigating High Crimes INCLUDES potential tax EVASION. VP Spiro Agnew was FORCED to resign in disgrace because of criminal tax evasion.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiro_Agnew

There is ZERO LEGAL BASIS for defying any Congressional Subpoena and not even Executive Privilege can be used to hide criminal wrongdoing so NO, your BLOTUS has nothing but OBSTRUCTION of JUSTICE to hide behind which is also an impeachable offense.

No, they don't want to drag it out, and they aren't. McConnell is already telling Senators to be prepared to work on the trial part of the process six days a week starting maybe as soon as Thanksgiving.

And there won't be a special counsel, because Trump's pet AG refuses to allow the Justice Department, including the FBI, to involve themselves in this investigation.

53% of us want Trump both impeached and removed, but he still has strong support among Republican voters. That has eroded this past week because of his sudden and impulsive and dishonorable and stupid move to pull out of Syria and leaves the Kurds to Erdogan's tender mercies. It's interesting how his base will work so hard to excuse him when he pockets taxpayer dollars or tries yo obstruct investigations, and they'll look the other way or deflect like mad regarding the really high number of crooks among his cronies and even his staff, including many who have been indicted, gone to jail, or are still in jail. But this business of running out on allies who have sacrificed more than 10,000 of their own lives helping us eliminate the caliphate seems to finally be a bridge too far for many. I don't see even those on this forum saying much about that.

It's a safe bet, Pelosi does not have the votes but they will force a couple of dozen "moderates" to sacrifice their political careers for the good of the party after which the leftist partisan garbage will be pretty quickly laughed out of the Senate (but not before destroying the Bidens, Muller, hoaxblowers on the witness stand).

The founding fathers intended the process to be bipartisan, not based on hysteria of a party that can't win at the ballot box. That's why it takes 67% of the vote to remove a duly elected president and the Dems won't muster even 50%, not even every democrat senator will support the sham.

It's also a safe bet that Trump will be the first president to be impeached, acquitted and re-elected by large [electoral vote] margins. The House will very likely swing back to republicans as well.

That is where Trump causes himself trouble. Top politicians usually always try to leave the dirt work to underlings so they can claim ignorance.

The cracks are starting in the walls that are closing in on the noose that's tightening on the beginning of Trump's end.

How does Trump manage to withstand the barrage of mighty metaphors?

It's his virtual ever-accreting turd ball, accelerating inexorably down a long slope, Trump, as a deranged dung beetle Sisyphus pushing in the wrong direction.

Now entering into the calculus is Trump's inability to function under pressure. The reasonable proposition that he is unfit for the office is now bolstered by his display of hysteria at being accused of being unfit for the office.

Rational people, under such an indictment, are admonished by counsel - when they have competent counsel - to refrain from comment.

Instead of acting presidential and above the matter, Trump, because it is about his beloved Trump, fixates upon it and raves incessantly, his childish petulance full-blown for all to see. Meanwhile, a modicum of adult supervision, such as had been provided by "Day Care" Kelly, is nowhere to be found, and the longer Trump's diaper goes unchanged, the more strident his ululations.

Mindless rage is no way to go through a congressional impeachment inquiry.

Now all you need is a new development continuing to tell the same lies about what we already know is not a new developement.

Keep it up, your doing Trump a big favor, the more the left push's impeachment the more money flows in for Trump's reelection.

Thank you lefties you are assuring 2020 will be win for Trump and the GOP.
