If the republicans in the senate cannot deliver an acquittal a large portion of Trump supporters will never vote in an election for national offices again. That would effectively be the end of the republican party.

This is a huge monkey to have on their back even for those who are just there for another cakewalk (they hope), rather than to represent the people.

The republicans are infamous for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, and patience has worn thin.

2/3 is a very high margin. I don't see it happening.

Do you really think that? Because that would seem to indicate that you're mentally ill.

Are you suffering from a mental illness?

Plus I seriously doubt Joe Manchin of West Virginia is about to
play along with Snidely Schumer and his Corrupted Senate Minority.
Manchins Popularity in West Virginia is seriously in question as it stands.
Voters in West Virginia are simple folk with simple likes & dislikes.
Yeah they like their Guns and their chew and their Moonshine.
Pickup trucks and regular beer.On occasion one can probably see
an Old Pickup truck with a gun rack and Big Falstaff Beer logo on that back
window or bumper.More than Likely an American Flag decal somewhere.
Maybe a Confederate flag. They aren't about to cotton to some Senator
who sides with Big City Washington insiders.
Manchin is virtually boxed-in.The only reason neighbor Kentucky went
Beshear { by less than 6,ooo votes } over Matt Bevin is simple.Bevin
wanted to teach that Teachers Union a lesson.Kinda like what Scott
Walker did in Wisconsin. But the Teachers union is back breaker. It's
universally Liberal and supported mostly by touchy-feely PC minded
Global Warming Females who feel they have power.
These Females { some males } decided to cut out from school
in order to Protest Bevins authority on matters. They skipped out of class
even when told they Must forfeit their pay for that time.
Beshear { snarky Liberal like his Father } wasted no time in pulling
a fast one.By calling an emergency meeting of the State Teachers board
    and replacing the current School Board Commissioner { put there by Bevin }
That is unlawful.Today Andy Beshear is making good on his Promise
Via an Executive Order to restore Voting rights to over 100,ooo former
    Kentucky Felons.

Exactly. If the Democrats want to claim Trump only wanted to "dig up dirt on a political campaign opponent." To demonstrate a suspicious pattern of possible corruption and abuse of power, Trump will be forced to release evidence of the many shady Joe & Hunter Biden get rich quick deals, from all over the world.

They need 2/3rd majority to boot Trump out of office. I don't think they'll come close, and I think McConnell will keep the hearings short or drag them out as long as needed for the Senate Republican whips to ensure a positive outcome for Trump. Romney is likely to vote with the minority, and the Senators who opposed Kavanaugh, Murkowsky and Collins, may also vote to indict. Any Republican votes for indictment are likely to be balanced by Democrats in purple states voting with the majority of Republicans.

90-95% of the Republican base supports Trump. Republican congressmen work for the constituents. Doesn't matter if they "like" Trump or not. No way they'll get 2/3ths.

The Chief Justice only needs to ask one question of the House dems, "where is your fact evidence against the President." The sound of crickets will be enough for the Senate to dismiss everything.

Precisely. It's as if the political Left is incapable of looking at history and projecting what COULD go wrong for them in the future if they continue along their path. Common sense . . . they need to get some.

To what end? If the Senate removed Trump, which of them would survive their next election? If trashy liberal pollsters are saying a majority of Americans don't support impeachment and removal, the truth is its probably around 60% or more. Anyone who 'pulled a fast one' and decided to remove Trump might face recall or simply lose their next bid. The articles of impeachment are vague and frankly pathetic, no Senate could convict on such a flimsy effort...

Federal government is not trustworthy. Don't get confused by that.
