    OUCH!

Trump ends 1st year with lowest average approval rating

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/jan/16/trumps-approval-rating-at-lowest-for-any-president-in-their-first-year
    https://finance.yahoo.com/news/trump-ends-1st-lowest-average-approval-rating-162101984.html

That is pretty bad. Hopefully he starts behaving more presidential and appeals to things more Americans rather than just his extreme right wing base may like, for potentially better numbers in 2018.

I wouldn't count on Trump reaching out to the 3/4 of America (the 250 Million+ American Citizens that despise him (and are experiencing the Living Hell of the Trump Trainwreck)).

At heart--Trump is an EGREGIOUSLY UNPREPARED MENTALLY UNSTABLE ALT-RIGHT SHILL (and IMBECILIC KNEEJERK FOX PARROT) who will most likely Double Down in PANDERING to his Tinfoil Hat Wearing RW Fever Swamp base.

    That is all.:salute:

    Two words: the economy.

I don't really care if you "like" Trump.

Make that ten words: the economy, decreased regulations, Gorsuch, tax reform, increased consumer confidence.

Thanks. We already got that message from another excitable poster.

All that tells me is that the corrupt mainstream media has done its job, i.e., brainwashed a gullible public. But neither Trump nor the truth of what is best for America will be deterred.

    Is this your job VC?

To post polls every day despite the fact that each and every single time you do you get destroyed for still believing polling means jack-****?

    Liberals are so easily manipulated.

Trump is undoubtedly hated by many and is fervently supported by many others who’ve felt like their silenced and squelched voices were never heard. I’m no statistician, but I’ll bet these polls are limited to certain categories. (geographical location, race, political bent, etc.)

The sample sizes are small and vary. Statistics can make one say anything, no?

Example: A recent Quinnipiac poll reveals that President Trump (or anyone else for that matter) receives a support value of 25%.

What’s not revealed about the poll is that:

    1) It consisted of 3,200 people

    2) Its participants resided in New York, Massachusetts and California

    3) The racial make-up of the respondents was 65% Hispanic, 25% African-American and 10% Caucasian.

    4) The political lean of the participants was far left.

These polls don’t take in a sample size remotely close enough for an accurate reading. It’s “polls” like this that got it so wrong for the president’s even being elected in the first place. A PEW research poll said the Pittsburg Steelers will most certainly advance in the NFL Playoffs to face The New England Patriots.

    These polls are worthless.

This is a Gallup average. Not a random QP poll you didn't even cite. They use proper weighting.

P.S. Can you link that QP poll you are describing?

Donnie's cult could care less if the entire world hates him.
And his poll number is 20 percent in the U.S. They do. not. care.

You can't state "this", Gallup approval polls use proper weighting, sampling, and statistics.

There is zero data presented showing their approval polls are done wrong.

    Which reminds me of:

Donald Trump is the most unpopular presidential candidate since the former head of the Ku Klux Klan
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...nald-trump-david-duke/?utm_term=.604e61af26a9

That worked out real well for dumb libs who were fooled by this garbage then and are clearly fooled by the exact same garbage fed to them by the very same people now. Ouch indeed, some people never learn, not even from their own mistakes

All the more remarkable that donald's approval ratings are so abysmal. With the economy jumping, so should be his approval ratings.

Precisely so. Conversely the Drudge Report announced that Trump now has a 46% national approval rating. So who are we going to believe, KNOWN to be lying leftist pollsters about Trump or a conservative outlet that is not going to alienate its readership by lying to them about their results, good, bad, or indifferent. Leftists LIVE for being lied to by their leadership and by their Mainstream Media political allies whereas lies simply tick-off Right of Center viewers and readership.

Yes; it is a huge mystery considering that the vast bulk of the Mainstream Media are acting like the political propaganda arm of the Dem Party and are attacking Trump non stop 7/24/365. It could almost . . . be . . . related.

Here is the dirty little truth about political polling.

In 1997 the average response rate to a political poll was 39% in 2017 it was 9%. In 1997 any pollster would have told you that a poll with a 9% response rate was useless. This is because Responses biases would dominate the signal. In 2018 those same polsters will tell you that they can do an accurate poll with only a 9% response rate. Have there been any paradigm shifts in the study of statistics that allows for pollsters to compensate for response biases with such a small response rate? No there have been no such advancements. They simply have to claim it's still possible to get meaningful results with such s low response rate because they would be unemployed if they admitted the truth.

    1. I didn't use QP for this thread. So not precisely.

    2. The person you are quoting did not cite the poll he is talking about.

    3. Weighting.

    4. Drudge is not as reputable as Gallup or the average of all reputable pollsters in the United States.

National opinion polls are historically accurate.

You mean the reputable polling companies that pretty much turned out to have been effectively working for the DNC in 2016 and obligingly swore for months that Hillary was going to win by a landslide? Those REPUTABLE polling companies? Sweet!
Excellent! A personal photograph of how the average Dem reacted when Trump got elected:

Well if you compare them to Snopes, then I guess you could give them a reputable nudge.

I enjoyed your pictures of the brokenhearted young ladies when they realize trump won. When did teens or young adults truly start educating themselves on geo-political issues? That's news all on its own.

Or they try to spin it into a loss, or they try to give the credit to Obama.
