President Trump still falsely claims he won in public, but behind the scenes he has told advisers that he could announce a presidential campaign before the end of this year.

Don't think he will stay out of the limelight. He will probably continue to be a strong influence in and on the Republican party.

When was the last time a single president in the White House? I just don't see him getting remarried that fast. But then it's like the 70 year old wealthy man who married a 20 year old beauty. When asked if he lied about his age to her he admitted yes, he told her he was 85.

 

Can you hold rallies behind prison bars? I don't think so.

I suspect he will be in N.Y. state prison or fighting like hell to stay out. At least I hope so.

 

I hope he doesn't run again in 2024. He'll be too old (78 years in 2024). Reagan left his second term of office at 77 years old with Alzheimer's. Biden is entering his first term at 78 years old with dementia. I hope America will see that electing people who have reached average life expectancy is a very bad idea, and dangerous to domestic and foreign security, especially when signs of dotage are showing even before being elected.

On the other hand, making big money on books and speaking fees after office is fairly normal. The Clinton's, Obama's, and Biden's have done it very successfully. Joe and Jill went from being in debt upon leaving the White House to making over $12 million two years afterward on book and speaking deals. Obama went back to his roots as a Community Organizer, raising funds for himself and boosting selected Democrats. No reason Trump shouldn't do the same.

I'd like to see him start the online streaming "news" organization I've heard he's interested in pursuing. He could be something of a GOP king-maker by promoting younger nationalist candidates, and even help them with promoting huge rallies.

I doubt if it will work, but one never knows. Most ex-presidents just fade away and one never hears much about them except perhaps during a campaign season. It's time for new faces to emerge from the Republican Party. It is my opinion that for 2024 they'll need a young vibrant candidate. One who know how to act and behave like an adult. Just a look at the numbers should tell Republicans Trump is finished. They make up approximately 30% of the electorate, they're still the smaller of the two major parties, they must win the independent vote or lose the election. Independents who elected Trump in 2016 turned against him in 2020. Losing the support of independents is what doomed Trump this year.

But if the GOP wants to keep Trump front and center and run him again in 2024, that's their problem. I have a feeling these independent voters who fled from Trump in 2020 aren't about to return to support him. His childish behavior turned them off.

 

He's already been offered 100 million for his book, easily the highest ever paid.

Forbes also estimates his worth at 3 or 4 billion.

I don't think he is concerned about money.

He probably won't run again. Watching Biden's epic failure coming up is going to make Trump seem very good as president so he will say I told you so and be content with that.

Nikki Haley will run and Trump will fully support her.

Trump, to the dismay of ALL the swamp critters showed that a good half the country had their fill of the good 'ol boy and girl, go along to git along status-quo. Will they learn, NO. Will all those who've had their fill just disappear, OH HELL NO! Come 2024 find a younger, articulate, slightly less abrasive nationalist/ populist GOP candidate. We'll still be ready and waitin'.

 

I expect the 2024 GOP field to be a crowded circus show like it was in 2016, and like the DNC primary was earlier this year.

If Trump does happen to run, but there is a younger nationalist with a good chance to win the nomination, I will vote for the younger candidate. If it looks like an old-school GOP RINO is leading with an (unlikely) Trump in 2nd place, that would be the only scenario where I would vote Trump in a Texas primary.

I just don't see primary voters picking Trump after 4 years when he'll be 78 years old. I think conservatives have more common sense than that....but hey, conservatives in Kentucky went with Mitch McConnell again for a 6-year seat, and he'll be 79 in February...so what do I know?

Sure: He will be gone from office in Jan. That is very positive.


He could have coasted by.........but the pandemic showed just how inadequate he is in that job. Plus you don't treat others as he does . He is sadistic. and could care less about how many lives he destroys. He has a strong authoritarian streak in him. and uses fear to control others. As I have stated before.....he does not care for the job itself.....but loves the perks........ the status, the notoriety, and public adoration. eg: his rallies....... which have had NO SUBSTANCE.

OK....that is my assessment and it is based on having a background in nursing and psychology.

I hope he doesn't re-run even though his is one of the greatest presidents of all time, the GOP needs to start also playing the race game. They need some candidate of color next time, or maybe even a trans person. Even better, a black man (who used to be a woman) for the presidential nominee and a spanish woman (who used to be a man) as the VP candidate. That will win over liberals because they don't actually care about POLICY, only color and sexual identifications

 

I doubt Biden will run again. He was voted in to get a lunatic out of the WH.

I can't say what will or will not happen in his term. However, if he royally screws it up, which I suspect is going to happened and depending on what he and the VP try, such as gun control, then Trump has a campaign platform for '24. Now is Trump going to go for it? I don't know because again it depends on what Biden does and the consequences of that.

 

Biden will basically be Obama 2.0 - and Trump signed more gun restrictions than Obama did.

 

One should look at Bernie Sanders. Huge movement for him in 2016. Big turnout. But still, he loses; claims it was unfair. Comes back four years latter, changed little, same old positions. One would think that his people, outraged by how he lost in 2016, this time would prop him up for victory. He promised a huge turnout of his youth movement. It didn't materialize. His numbers decreased from 2016. He was cut to size, and while he lost 2016 to Hillary Clinton by 3 million primary popular votes, he lost 2020 to Joe Biden by 8 million primayr popular votes. Almost 3 times more. His campaign seemed "so 2016..."

I predict that if Trump runs again in 2024, he will lose again, likely by more than this time.
