    It's a 15,100 swing from Obama's "new normal".
That word you keep using it. I don't think it means what you think it means. We are adding output and jobs, that's growth, Silly!

    Your math skills suck.

    Jan 2017 51,000 jobs
    Jul 2018 52,900
    Gain 1,900

    July 2015 64,200
    Loss 13,200

Small mine just opened in Bamalama. Owner bought a 2.3 million dollar tracked power shovel and called 22 men back to work.

That's 22 men paying taxes instead of sucking the teats of taxpayers.

It's just a little bit more, but every little bit more is making America great again.

    Build the wall.

Translation: I have no idea but if something that I perceive is good (even if its not) I will try to give trump credit.

Meanwhile back to the present solar jobs are falling by the thousands due to tariffs on panels.

Perhaps more solar panels will soon be MADE IN THE USA. I hope so.

Put American manufacturing to work. Put Americans to work again making our stuff.

Nuclear would be great...regulated into near oblivion be the leftists.

There is still a large market for coal and we should absolutely exploit it.

Less "dirty" than making SOLAR PANELS or ELECTRIC CAR/HYBRID CAR BATTERIES....

Perhaps Donald Trump could apply his magic and turn coal into a currency and pay the proletariat in bags of coal.

    Can't argue with the results.

Obama-The-Unlucky LOST 13,900 Coal Mining jobs in his last 18 months.
Trump GAINED 1,900 Coal Mining jobs in his first 18 months.

    He's just good at this!

    This air pollution includes:

Mercury: Coal plants are responsible for 42 percent of US mercury emissions, a toxic heavy metal that can damage the nervous, digestive, and immune systems, and is a serious threat to the child development. Just 1/70th of a teaspoon of mercury deposited on a 25-acre lake can make the fish unsafe to eat. According to the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) National Emissions Inventory, US coal power plants emitted 45,676 pounds of mercury in 2014 (the latest year data is available).

Sulfur dioxide (SO2): Produced when the sulfur in coal reacts with oxygen, SO2 combines with other molecules in the atmosphere to form small, acidic particulates that can penetrate human lungs. It’s linked with asthma, bronchitis, smog, and acid rain, which damages crops and other ecosystems, and acidifies lakes and streams. US coal power plants emitted more than 3.1 million tons of SO2 in 2014.

Nitrogen oxides (NOx): Nitrous oxides are visible as smog and irritate lung tissue, exacerbate asthma, and make people more susceptible to chronic respiratory diseases like pneumonia and influenza. In 2014, US coal power plants emitted more than 1.5 million tons.

Particulate matter: Better known as “soot,” this is the ashy grey substance in coal smoke, and is linked with chronic bronchitis, aggravated asthma, cardiovascular effects like heart attacks, and premature death. US coal power plants emitted 197,286 tons of small airborne particles (measured as 10 micrometers or less in diameter) in 2014..

Other harmful pollutants emitted in 2014 by the US coal power fleet include:

    • 41.2 tons of lead, 9,332 pounds of cadmium, and other toxic heavy metals.
    • 576,185 tons of carbon monoxide, which causes headaches and places additional stress on people with heart disease.
    • 22,124 tons of volatile organic compounds (VOC), which form ozone.
    • 77,108 pounds of arsenic. For scale, arsenic causes cancer in one out of 100 people who drink water containing 50 parts per billion.

You just have the time frame wrong. Obama did more in his last 6 months than Thumper did in 18.
You cherry pick your dates, I cherry pick mine.
But it really doesn't matter those coal miners will remember his promise.

30% of the electricity for that dirty battery in your electric car comes from coal, Silly!

We know you guys hate coal miners and want to put them out of work. Hillary told Pennsylvania Coal Miners that she wanted to put them out of work. Instead, they got together and put HER out of work.

Is this a great country, or what!

Not mine. I use electricity made with gas. Much cleaner and cheaper.
And no pollution from the car either. Pretty slick, huh?

None of that contradicts what I posted, there was growth in coal mining jobs for the year 2016 as well, but again what you fail to realize is this is not due to federal policy, but fluctuations in the global market for coal. If you analyze the US coal industry, it has been on the decline since the 1930s, however this decline is not a straight line, the coal industry has gone through various periods of growth in that period of time, but these periods are short lived, and minuscule in comparison to the periods of decline.

Economic experts, as well as the coal mining companies themselves are not expecting the recent fluctuation in the demand for coal to be any different than the previous fluctuations we have seen. In the long run, coal mining is expected to continue in its decline

And yet, it's gaining in output and employment or "declining" under Trump, in prog-speak.
