"President Donald Trump and his campaign have spent months deploying a series of attacks on Joe Biden, depicting him as weak, unfit and a tool of leftists."

"But as Biden rises in the polls, it's becoming increasingly clear that the attacks are not sticking. As such, Trump's mission to define Biden to voters has proven difficult."

"It's different from four years ago when the president was helped by the fact that Hillary had 20 years of built-in negatives, one Republican said. Biden is viewed more favorably than 2016 Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, who was under investigation during the campaign."

"Recent polling showed most Americans disagree with Trump on what efforts to defund police departments mean and disapprove of his handling of race relations after George Floyd's death. Biden has said he does not support defunding departments but has said he's in favor of conditioning federal aid to law enforcement agencies in hopes of incentivizing certain police reform"

"In May Fox News poll showed more voters trusted Biden on China than Trump. And a Monmouth poll earlier this month found more voters felt Biden, 78, has the mental and physical stamina to handle the presidency than felt so about Trump, 74."

"It is difficult to demonize Joe Biden," said former Rep. Carlos Curbelo, R-Fla. "He is certainly not short on flaws, but throughout his career he has never been considered a villain or a shady character. The president almost needs that kind of foil in order to succeed."

Tough to sell the melodrama that is central to Trump's shtick when there isn't a Snidely Whiplash to demonize nor anything for the demagogues to scapegoat

Trump may even lose TX in this election. We have just 110 days left, Trump has his work cut out for him.

It's in my view because the attacks themselves are re runs of the same old issues he said was a problem prior to him running and make it seem like he's desperate.... (kneeling, flags, antifa, BLM, caravans etc)

all Biden has to do is ignore Trump

Trump is a pig that likes playing in the mud, let him play there by himself

As they might say in the UK, Trump's running out of road.

Four months out in an election is an eternity, guarantee the polls will become tighter come October, especially with the 24/7 cable infotainment agenda

True, and this time Trump has a record to run on, can't count on being the outsider as he did in 2016, and even though he might have been able to frame the economy as a bonus, his reaction to COVID and the protests have pulled the rug out from beneath him

Yes there still is time for Trump to turn things around, not sure if he is capable.

20% of Dem Party voters now think that -- Grope 'em if you've got 'em -- Joe Biden is obviously suffering from signs of dementia based on the nature of his on camera appearances alone. Trump doesn't have to say anything bad about Biden. People can see all by themselves that Slow Joe is NOT presidential material.

I agree. And Trump has the same faults when it comes to "grope 'em if you've got 'em" and mental slips. Maybe we should just have their VPs go at it and ignore these unqualified, groping buffoons altogether.

I can't see myself voting for either of the two. Its sad that Trump or Biden will be our president. The debates should be fun.

For now. That could easily change. Once we get to the debates, Trump could potentially land some blows, or Biden could sink himself by a few points by saying something stupid. Plus, if we somehow manage to get a COVID vaccine before November, there are voters who will give Trump the credit, closing the gap a good bit. A lot of the gap now is due to Trump's COVID gaffs. We still have a ways to go before November. A lot can change, and let's not forget about the Dem complacency factor.

Yessssssssssssssss . . . that tends to happen when one heavy weights the polling pool with Dems and with Independents -- whom mysteriously have only ever voted for Dems.

I pulled it up from memory. Like Joe Biden my memory is not always that great . . . although as of yet I haven't ever been running for the presidency and claimed that instead I was running for the U.S. senate and exlaimed that I was certain to beat myself for the win. So there is still hope for MY brain.

If you remember which country your father was born in and that there were no airports during the Revolutionary War, then you are doing better than Trump as well.

Had I -- and common sense conservatives and true political independents -- trusted obviously skewed polling in defiance of common sense then we would have stayed home in 2016 and Hillary might be president today. Once again the political Left is using obviously skewed polling to prove to conservatives that Biden is the 2020 winner and that they might as well not bother voting.
