He was recently splashed all over the headlines because Ellen DeGeneres got close enough to him to be infected with the conservative cancer, and the tolerant left was considering cutting her out before she metastasized.

 

The story was, liberals were complaining she was friends with Bush, it wasn't about Bush, but about DeGeneres.

For the most parts Democrats loathe Tulsi Gabbard because:

1) Her military background which they tend not to trust.
2) Her positions on U.S. military intervention abroad which goes against the majority of both Democrats and Republicans.
3) Her father. Though Gabbard has stuck with the Democratic positions on abortion rights and homosexual rights, her father, a fairly prominent Hawaii politician has been against both strongly for years. There is a fear among many Democrats that deep down Tulsi Gabbard believes much more strongly in her fathers positions than the ones she espouses now.
4) She is beautiful and has arguably tv/movie star level looks and charisma. This goes against the Democrats preferred image of a woman politician whose face is puffed and battered from her heroically battering her head against the "glass ceiling".

Let's be realistic here, this will give Tulsi a nice bump, but let's remember that she was barely clinging to the bumper of the clown car with her fingernails, and this little dust up with The Wicked Witch isn't nearly enough to get here anywhere near even the middle of the pack, and the boost is going to fade fast.
