So Dems, you guys are DYING for a woman President. You made a huge mistake by running an extremely corrupt one last year. What do you all think about Tulsi? Her and I actually share a lot of similar views on foreign policy.

So since you guys are going to run a woman just so we can say we've had a female President, at least pick someone worthy of leadership.

What are your thoughts on her?

I think they will run Corey Booker and simply have him gender identify as a woman.

    Haha yes they could.

In all seriousness, not only is Tulsi good looking, she's a Major and UNDERSTANDS our military unlike Obama (hard to comment on Trump yet since he's only been in office a couple of months. However, he never served which IMO, she be a requirement).

She has a lot of views a libertarian could get behind.

As far as politicians go, Gabbard is one of the better ones.

I agree. I still don't know much about her, but from what I continue to read, she sounds like she might actually care about Americans.

If the Dems want to put forward an intelligent, articulate, woman who is also an Iraq war veteran and a major in the Hawaii NG, they could have a great candidate. She is dead set against regime change in Syria and in arming Sunni militants, a position neoconian Dems would not like. And if you're a dyed in the wool Republican, you should hope the Dems stick with their heir apparent, Elizabeth W., because Gabbards is very likable.

Well if the Dems pull something stupid and select Warren, Trump has an easy win. If the Dems select someone who is actually a supporter of the people, like Gabbard, they'd get their wish of a female President.

I would really love to hear from some Democrats about this. Is this someone you'd get behind?

I don't think she has much of a future in the party. She got booted from the DNC before the Wikileaks emails came out because she was complaining about the DNC putting their thumbs on the scale for Bernie. Consequently, she ended up endorsing Bernie.

She has a lot of admirable qualities, but those qualities got her fired from the DNC. They want team players, and she hasn't learned how to be one yet.

Just shows you how powerful the establishment is. I'm still curious as to how the Democrat voters feel about her.

Not going to matter who they run he or she will never win the next one! The DNC is going to hammer the left with propaganda warning that if they continue to gain power that America will see increased left wing violence and they will have literally thousands of visuals to help fortify their claims..

The left is supplying the image and the DNC will exploit it, and the older and rural voters will be energized to vote against that alone!

I would think Gabbard, now that the Obama regime is out of the way to silence her, would be a great voice for the Dems

Where did you get that from?
Both her parents were American Citizens.
She was born in American Samoa - that's like McCain being born in the Canal Zone - both American territories.

I like Tulsi. Intelligent and articulate.
She wants restoration of the Glass–Steagall Act - which, after it was repealed under Clinton, set the scene for the Meltdown of the banks in 2008 and our near-depression.
She is against the TPP - which I don't know enough about, but I oppose if only because we were not told what was in it - we'd only find out after it was in force, and THAT sounds bad.
    Here's something great:
"Gabbard was a notable opponent of a $1.15 billion arms deal with Saudi Arabia, and was quoted in The Hill as saying, "Saudi Arabia continues to spend billions of dollars funding the spread of the Wahhabi Salafist ideology that fuels groups like ISIS, al Qaeda and other jihadist groups around the world. The U.S. must stop arming Saudi Arabia, stop fueling this fire and hold Saudi Arabia accountable for their actions."

They have found their calling bro! They're less interested in democratic leadership and more satisfied with venting and violence! They are enjoying what they truly were conceived to do, violence and anarchy! You will never get them to settle for civility and order, just look at them, it's crack to them now, and they ain't giving it up any time soon! They like anarchy, and half the dopes in the group haven't a clue what they are protesting, they just know it fun to yell and curse people and every once in a while his someone with a rock :)

The positives of most of her positions are overwhelmed by the massive negative of supporting the disaster that would be Bernie Sanders.

Wish she were better informed. I see that she is dead set against regime change in Syria. Assad's family is worth $300 billion.. Would she force Assad to pay for rebuilding Syria?

Here's something to consider. The price tag for rebuilding Syria is already up to $180 billion.

Her father became a naturalized citizen at age one.

The poster you referred to probably just scanned the Wiki article and then rushed here to post misinformation.

I saw that, too, but her father was born in American Samoa - doesn't that make him a citizen?
Why did he have to become a naturalized citizen, and at age one? When my parents became naturalized citizens, they were asked questions about American government and had to pass that test - how is that done at age one???

She definitely lost points (in some sectors of the Dem Party during the 2016 primaries) by supporting Sanders.

If she was serious about a 2020 bid, I don't think many would hold the Sanders support against her (since she eventually supported Clinton).

Of course, being a resident of Hawaii (born in American Samoa) would send the RW Fever Swamp conspiratorial birthers into overdrive.

Not a dem but I would be interested to see if she still stood for the same thing if nominated as a candidate or bow to the parties demands. Appears to be middle of the road and not a far left progressive except she did support Sanders.

As of now, American Samoa is the only US Territory that doesn't confer US Citizenship at birth.

The SCOTUS affirmed this as recently as June 2016.

In any event Tulsi is a US Citizen (since both of her parent's were USA citizens at the time of her birth. Mother was born in Indiana, etc.)
