She first served as an enlisted person, and she served in Iraq in a medical unit. I'm not sure of her actual MOS. She became an officer later.

I'm an Independent who leans right. I will probably vote for Trump in 2020. But, since I live on the Left Coast, my vote won't count anyway. If Trump were to lose, I would prefer that he lose to Tulsi.

Her military service doesnt seem all that controversial IMO. She was deployed to iraq. She’s seen what happens in these interventionist wars. She traveled to syria and actually met with assad and talked to him. I trust that she knows what she is talking about when she is critical of endless wars. On this, the only 2 other people in congress who i know of that seem to understand this is rand paul and bernie sanders.

Also worth noting that trump vetoed a senate bill that would block americans weapons being sold to Saudi arabia in their mass killing of civilians in yemen. A bill that bernie co sponsored and had lots of republican support.

Wow she's certainly an effective and courageous public speaker, with a refreshingly candid anti-war foreign policy.

Re domestic policy: it seems Gabbard, AOC and Sanders can legitimately offer above-poverty participation in the economy (thus countering the Right's constant refrain: "where's the money coming from?").

This article from Prof. Randall Wray, of the Levy Economics Institute at Bard College in New York, examines how an above-poverty Job Guarantee can be implemented without raising taxes.

    http://www.levyinstitute.org/pubs/pn_2018_3.pdf

    A great read, highly recommended.

Not so sure. This video mentions that many republicans support some key agenda items of the Dem. Left.

    https://www.nakedcapitalism.com/201...liberals-should-pass-baton-let-left-lead.html

<<"Almost every poll of the public shows that the key agenda items of the progressives have strong, strong support, even among Republicans">.

[You can read the article or scroll down to the video].

Prof. Brad Delong is (was!) an orthodox economist who advised Bill Clinton: he says he and his fellow mainstream neoliberal economists have been proved wrong, in the last three decades.

    The last paragraph:

<<"These guys know they’ve been the fool for 30 years, and they have tossed our lives down the drain. Brad is willing to say it. So they know how discredited they are. And thanks to Brad DeLong for having the intellectual honesty to say it in these blunt and colourful terms. But I can tell you this has been in the making for at least eight years, where Brad DeLong, based on new facts, has been shedding his ideology, or at least changing it dramatically. And we should all use that as a lesson, as well. Just listen to the facts. Don’t go with these labels like socialism or not socialism. Is it a desirable program? And here’s the good news: Almost every poll of the public shows that the key agenda items of the progressives have strong, strong support, even among Republicans">>.

Neither did Clinton (avoided the draft) or Obama (an effete pansy).

Clinton also passed the telecommunications act which consolidated ownership of all media in this country to be owned by 6 large conglomerates.

Totally a progressive left wing radical for sure.

Sure, Bush did such a good job invading the wrong country and letting OBL get away. A lot of good that Trained no did him.

Yep, a democrat before they became the insane far left wing. Biden also avoided the draft.

She has a Combat Medical Badge (CMB). In order to get the CMB, she needed to be a combat medic MOS. After she was commissioned, she transitioned to Military Police.

Well, it is. Gabbard should resign from the U.S. Army National Guard so that she no longer violates the Constitution by serving in Congress [Article I, Sec. 6, Clause 2] and DoD Directive 1344.10. Too late now, I suppose.

Actually it's time for the "insane far left wing" to step up. (Btw, Obamacare was not left wing; single payer is).

Study MMT. The government can implement a JG without raising taxes.

Do you have proof that Trump's bowel movements do not smell like flowers ? - Lack of proof to the contrary does not make your claims about Trump true.
