The most efficient system is when the single payer is the consumer, or the consumer's own insurance provider. The first being the most efficient, and the second being the second most efficient. Everything beyond that gets less efficient.

Until they learn of the long wait times and the limitation of services.

You can thank the idiotic drug prohibition laws for making that hombre and his cartels and street gangs rich as hell and armed to the teeth. The nanny state drug war is a miserable failure. Crack heroin and meth should be sold right along side the Thunderbird and Cisco at 7-11. The same idiot losers who guzzle that crap until they puke in the alley will get all those drugs you blame the Mexicans for anyway. When Coca Cola was laced with cocaine and you could order heroin ampules with a clean neeedle from the Sears and Roebuck catalog there was no drug problem.

She is their leading candidate and not the only one advocating it. How do you ignore it?

She's the leading candidate because the corporate media is shoving her down our throats? Its not because of polling data. She's Hillary 2.0.

And another myth as it does not include all the hidden cost of a government run system.

Medicare-For-All Would Increase, Not Save, Administrative Costs

I believe Sanders should have said overhead and not administrative costs. By that I mean the percentage of money collected in premiums divided by what was paid to providers. All this info is on their stock portfolios. It is almost 25%. This 6% that forbes mentions is the cost to process claims. Not Advertising, sales, and corporate salaries and brick and mortar costs + profit, To get to Bernies 30 percent you would have to add the money that they pay in taxes to get closer to the 30%

I don't know of anything government runs that is not frought with waste and abuse and it has no compelling reason to get rid of either.

And if you don't think Insurance companies suffer from waste and abuse you are sadly mistaken, they just get to pass it along as overhead to the inusured. I worked as an engineer/Salesman for companies with 8 employees to 1,200 and everything in between. The company with 8 had very little waste, the company with 1,200 had globs.
now since the 90s with lean, 5S, Kanban and JIT this waste has been halved, but it is still huge.

You might want to investigate that a little more...https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-...image-about-democratic-senators-and-big-phar/

Booker: "I support the importation of prescription drugs as a key part of a strategy to help control the skyrocketing cost of medications. Any plan to allow the importation of prescription medications should also include consumer protections that ensure foreign drugs meet American safety standards. I opposed an amendment put forward last night that didn’t meet this test."

You understand that the government is now paying for 50% of all the medical care already, now if you think that medicare is going to waste 25% of every dollar they control over and above what present private insurances do I er , I don't know what to say. g

I guess the voters should hold their elected reps accountable. For there is no supernatural reason that gov't cannot work effectively, and if it is a sloppy operation, the people you elect are inept, lazy, and cannot do the job.

So instead of griping about how gov't cannot do anything right, elect people who can make it work right.

They need to just go ahead and title "Medicare for All" accurately as "Free Stuff for MEEEEEEEE and Tyranny for THEEEEE!"

Not fooling anyone, no matter how many fake polls are cited.

yes they waste money, my point is that they don't waste the 25% that the private health insurers take in but don't give to providers. Government workers are just like the rest of us 9 out of 10 are good hard working people. the only problem is that the 1 in ten that should be fired never is.

First I reject your 25% "waste" claim. And do you know how insurance companies work? They aren't just a clearing house of funds.

They don't "waste" 25% they just don't spend it on payments to providers. Brick and mortar, equipment, salaries for all non claims processing, advertizing (billions and billions) profits, auditing all those things involved in running a profitable business.

If you want to see waste go to any government office and guess what they are in "brick and mirror" buildings and use equipment and pay salaries and do lousy jobs of auditing and tacking their funds and yes even advertise its amazing the "stuff" I get routinely from Medicare.
